RE: Gas Engine Sealant

I use Loctite 573, flange sealant for case seals. I also use Loctite 680, bearing race sealant. These products were recommended in a post several years ago. They work! They are not cheap.

RE: New Hitec Aurora 9-Channel 2.4Ghz Radio System

I'm with Striker on the charger deal. I think using a cheap ( $25 ) charger gives me so much more information about the battery in my radio. I would never go back to "hope" in the wall wart charger (...

RE: NEW DLE 20cc Gasser! (Data & Links 1st Post)

When the 20 was first released Jody from Valley View posted to go ahead and use Sthil Ultra HP @ 32to1 ( a good synthetic ) from the beginning. I have done this on all my 20s. I never lost a bearing...

RE: DLE 55RA Vapor Lock

I have used exhaust wrap for some of the heat issues with my stuff. Mostly for protecting Hi-tension leads when I can't seem to find a proper way to route them. The wrap is not cheap, but it works.

RE: New Hitec Aurora 9-Channel 2.4Ghz Radio System

Ken CZ, dump the mix and rename the second channel AIL. Then any trim action will affect both Channels named AIL the same way. On the other wing use Ail2.

You would have to be really fortunate to do your scan at the time "they" were broadcasting.

RE: Aurora 9's

Brad, I asked the question to see if it was "band wide", not just an interesting HiTec issue. Since no one else was up at the time we won't know. Here is hoping it was weather induced interference....

RE: Aurora 9's

Brad, were the only radios affected HiTec? What others were in use at the time of the incident?

RE: NEW DLE 20cc Gasser! (Data & Links 1st Post)

++ Since more oil ( up to a point ) results in more heat being carried away you get another benefit. I run the same in my 55cc stuff. I do still have to clean up a bit, but the hope is my engines...

RE: DLE fuel can where ?

That one has the Miracle pump. I have one and it failed after no more than 20 tanks of fueling. I leaked from the seal bottom seal in the pump, under the pump "gears".

I saw a pump I now have...

RE: New Hitec Aurora 9-Channel 2.4Ghz Radio System

AT, when you say better do you mean reduced latency or are there other performance benefits? Is re-link/re-bind time reduced? What else?

RE: opto kill switch

I shot a msg to Ed Alt ( the designer of the Tech Aero IBEC ) and asked him about the issue of a CDI failing with a direct short. Here is his response.

RE: opto kill switch

+1 ..... I have used a couple of them for years with no issues. I am also using the Syssa IBECs in a couple of airframes and have a couple of Smart-Fly systems too. They all work.

RE: New Hitec Aurora 9-Channel 2.4Ghz Radio System

If you still like the 9c then buy a Hitec 2.4 module and receiver to update you 9c. Hitec receivers are less expensive and are solid performers. You will miss some new features of an A9 or 9x but it...

RE: dl50

The DL engines often had issues with the bearing cages on the rod to crank and piston wrist pins. In order to get the most from your 50 I would suggest using a good oil mixed at 32:1 or 4 four ounces...

RE: New Seagull Extra 260 180

A little right thrust seems to counteract torque or P-factor and is common. To me, downthrust depends on the way it flies ( what happens on throttle transition/level vs. inverted and other stuff).
