You can run (some of) the power directly to the servos, rather than through the gyro itself.
On my iGyro, for two JR8911 elevator servos I separated out the power from the signal, having the power...

I had the same thoughts. On my setup I would have the two servo wires powering the 5 iGyro outputs with a total of 8 servos on them. As I found this unacceptable, For 3 servos I ended up separating...

I like to maiden the plane with the CG a bit forward. Will likely take them off once I'm convinced it's safe to move the CG aft.

Ok, so first my wife made a lot of fun of me for amputating the legs of my one of my pilots...

So on my next plane I decide to leave the legs on. Now she really can't stop laughing!?!?

From my perspective, this is a HOBBY. When flying our TOY planes, everyone knows and fully accepts that there is always a risk that some damage occurs in an accident through ones own fault or...

I think the lessons learned are as follows:
    1) At an event where every pilot flies with a spotter, pilots should stay at their flight station until their plane is safely off the runway (i.e. onto...

Thanks Jetpilot. Indeed I may go to a small header tank approach as it I wouldn't want a pleated paper clunk to be "eaten up" by the smoke oil.
    Nice video!

Pleated paper clunk for smoke system?

Anyone using a pleated paper clunk in a smoke oil tank? I'm thinking of doing so to not get intermittent smoke when the tank is still 1/3 full. Is there anything against using the paper in smoke oil?

Tam, no need to "leave". You can always reduce the time spent here. Look at my stats... I joined RCU in 2006 and am up to post 67 already... :)

This hobby is full of small "enthusiast" companies trying to make a living selling small often innovative products. If we expect them to replace the entire plane when their part has a defect, they'll...

RE: Fly Eagle Jet F-14 Crash (video)

Looking to buy an X-ray machine. Anyone know any good manufacturers? Should I take the machine apart before using it to ensure the design/built is trustworthy?

    Anyone?

That's my interpretation of the message also. One of the key things about true engineers is an attitude that any design can always be further improved towards better quality, lower cost, reliability,...

RE: Fly Eagle Jet F-14 Crash (video)

From my perspective, it doesn't matter so much where the jet is built. Many great products are built/assembled in China, Taiwan, etc.

To me, it's clear that this is a design related problem more...
