RE: Great planes ultimate 160

I think I've got one of them faulty stick actuators too.... You'd think that with all these new 12 and 14 channel radios, they'd find someway to incorporate a 'talent' knob somewhere....

Fine Lookin' Ulti!

...fly this weekend.... I Wish! Looks like more Cold, Wet weather here. My Poor Ulti sits in her cradle while I ponder whether or not to strip the monokote off of her this...

RE: Great planes ultimate 160

A Menz cut should do it. I had to hog mine out a bit to go with the Vess prop. You may want to consider having them cut it for the Vess, then you can put pretty much any prop on it.

RE: Great planes ultimate 160

I'm running that exact combination. All I can say is 'WOW
All of my servos are mounted in the tail, everything pretty much as the manual says to do it, and the CG is dead on the money. I've used...

Entry level 50cc plane?

ok, so i've been boring holes in the sky for years, and I'm going to try IMAC next year, just for some 'stimulus'. I'm looking real hard at the EF Extra 300, 88" Wingspan. What's the consesus on...

RE: Great planes ultimate 160

yeah, after reviewing the brison owners manual, i'm going to go to a 50:1 mix. at first, i was worrying about running it at too high an rpm, 7200, but they say it's good up to 7500. I just didn't...

RE: Great planes ultimate 160

Just got back from a beautiful morning with my Ulti. I broke down and ordered a Vess 22a Prop for it after finally busting my TBM Prop. The LHS didn't have anything except Zingers, so I was stuck...

RE: Airborne Models ToughLon Covering.

I think it's 36X72, but these old braincells may not be right. BTW, I've got a couple of seasons on the Hog Bipe shown above. The covering still looks as good as the day it was put on. Still got a...

RE: Carl Goldberg Ultimate 10-300 Build

I'm running the Saito 100 GK and to answer your questions...
1) Nope...
2) Roughly, the same goes for a 4 stroke as it does for a 2 stroke
3) I'm using a 2-line. Run the vent to the muffler...

RE: Painting over monokote?

It works ok... I've got a couple done like that. Used RustOleum over Monokote. Make sure you 'rough up' the monokote just a bit with some 00 steel wool (preferably after you mask it.) Yeah, it...

RE: What do you want to see at a LHS?

My LHS is on the small side, but carries Nothing for the larger planes. The only large scale props they carry are standard zingers, great for stirring paint, but not much else. Stock some higher...

RE: 50cc Biplane

Do yourself a favor and get the GP Ultimate.... this thread says it all

GP Ultimate

I've had one for a bit over 2 years now, and it is without a doubt, the best flying model I've owned.

RE: Great planes ultimate 160

yeah, the 5945's are a great servo, and it's nice to know I've got the servos for a 100cc should the time ever come. They're way overkill for the Ulti, but then I sure do like the performance. ...

RE: Great planes ultimate 160

Are you running the 625's on 6v? That would help out a lot on the torque and speed. I'm running the older Hitec 5945 Digitals on everything but Rudder, where I've got the big tungsten geared hitec....

RE: Great planes ultimate 160

Whats the general consensus on props? I'm using a Brison 3.2, and had tried a Zinger Pro 22x6 (LHS had one...), a TBM 22x6, along with a paint stirring stick in the form of a standard Zinger 22x6. ...

Saito 100 rocker cover screws

I've got a Saito 100, and noticed that one of the rocker cover screws had vibrated out and is missing. I've dug around on the net, but can't find the size of these screws. Anybody got that info?

RE: Great planes ultimate 160

Grimmace,

I took some 1" diameter pvc, a few 'T' fittings, a saw and some pvc glue, and built a cradle/stand for my Ulti. Very easy to do, and lots of ways to do it. It really helps at the...

RE: Great planes ultimate 160

I used the heavy duty Dubro hinges, the ones with the brass cotter pins. With a bit of work, these work great. I'm not sure that the LE/TE of the surfaces lend themselves to using the Robarts hinge...
