Use the CG stated in the manual for a start. I have a Saito 1.50 four stroke
and only needed 3/4 oz. on the tail.

For unlimited vertical, I'd go with the 1.60. The 1.20 should fly it nicely though...

For thinning epoxy, I use plain old rubbing alcohol.
It just takes a few drops. You can't really screw up the mix ratio, just the thinner it is, the more it soaks into raw wood. A "paint"...

OUCH!! Sorry to hear that Cooper 1. I often worry about flutter on those hugh control surfaces.
I'm using Futabo 3305 on the rudder, 3010s on elev. and ailirons. So far no problems, even though...

I agree with HoverLow. It's probably the one deg. positive angle.
If that one degree adds lift when flying level and the elevator is

Just put mine in today...in to the ground that is. Club Scale Contest...Rolled her at about 8 feet alt. and had a brain fart. Not a single piece of the plane was left untouched...

FYI..IMO..the last pic. looks as if the elev. hinge
slots were not centered. Mine were not perfect either.

Mine is at recommended CG and has zero stall tendancies.

I drilled a hole through the fiber tube, into the wing tube and tapped it for a bolt. I leave the tube in at all times, but it's easily removed if needed....

The stab and wing are on the same thrust line. That's the reason this plane flies like it's on a wire.

Just a fair warning about those KE Walls. The SFG's are very thin and fragile. They will not hold up in high speed/high drag manuvers.

No "snapping" on my ST, although I only have about 15 flights on it.
My first suggestion (and easiest to fix) would be that's it's tail heavy.
Try a little nose weight...Move CG "foward" Good...
