RE: Great planes ultimate 160

The nylon works well if you can get it in one piece but stacking multiplies the vibration if a bolt comes a bit loose. I did apply a thin piece (about 1/8" aluminum to the face of the hard wood to...

RE: Ridiculous Velcro question!

I put the hook side up so the back side of it touches the part, then the fuzzy side laps over. It helps me get a good grip for pulling the velcro tight, but this is for airplanes where a lose...

RE: Top Flite Staggerwing

I am using a 40 cc gasser (Brissen) but I had to modify the firewall for the muffler. I am sure a 1.08 would be too small as it calls for a 1.60. I believe mine gasser is 2.4 and it flies it great,...

RE: GP Lancair ES Pictures

My lancair had wing tip drops that I had to glue on so it would have hidden anything you are showing. Do you not have the same parts in your kit?

Unless you decide to send it back, you will be able to clear up the streaks with polishing compond and soft cloths. A little bit of elbow grease and it will look better than factory. If for some...

RE: Need help: How to mount 90-degree bell crank

ON a smaller or low performance craft, the bolt can just pass through a piece of light ply or hardened balsa. This is ok but there will be a bit of slop due to the bolt flexing. To really get it...

RE: Wet Epoxy Clean-up?

First use a heat gun to make it flow, then a putty knife to pick up the bulk of it. Once it is mostly gone, metholhydrate will easily remove the residue.

Yes, the plywood is a ledge that sits on the 3/4" hardwood standoffs for the engine mount. The plywood shelf holds the ignition and the ignition battery which is secured with velcro.

I agree, it would be interesting to see what RPM's you are pulling with the 12" props. I would like to see 11,000 to 12,000 on the ground.
