  1. RE: hunter306's Brushless Pede' - Build Chronicles

Any updates, hunter? I'm curious to see what else is going into the pede :)
  2. RE: Lipo battery recommendation for Mamba 5700

Don't be turned off by the voltage different. These packs hold their voltage under load as good if not better than any other battery.

My buddy with his E-sav has three different sets of...
  3. RE: Lipo battery recommendation for Mamba 5700

    http://www.a123racing.com/html/starterkits.html

    Much safer than Li-Po, useable for 1000+ cycles. Cheaper than a Li-Po + Charger + Balancer. 15 minute re-charge.

    Perfect batteries if you...

    RE: OFFICAL PEDE THREAD

I took it apart and cleaned it out last week and have only ran it on pavement since. That "dirt and grime" you see is metal shavings from the idler.

    RE: OFFICAL PEDE THREAD

This is what 6 months of a MM5700 on 3s A123's does to an aluminum idler:

    RE: e-savage

Yeah, S-600's are the popular "drop in" replacement motors for the e-sav. My buddy ran some in his for a while and they were awesome up until one accidentally came unplugged and he ran the truck for...

    RE: What Off-road car/truck ?

I would recommend an E-savage, you really can't beat it. Strong, plenty fast and VERY durable, comes with good batteries AND a dual charger! Handles well enough on a track if you feel like tossing...

    RE: strong stampede drive shafts

    Stub axle?

I don't know, I've abused my pede about as much as you can and I'm still running the stock shafts / stub axles, etc.

Take a look at the abuse my pede takes in my vids:

    RE: E-maxx battery suggestions

Another option would be the 2s1p starter kit from A123racing.com.

My friend bought that kit to run in his E-savage and loves them!

The kit may be slightly more expensive than two ib4200...

    RE: strong stampede drive shafts

What makes you think you'll need new drive shafts?

I'm running nearly 10 volts through the mm5700 system on a variety of tires (Talon's, Masher's, Anaconda's) and have had zero problems with any...
  13. RE: Found this power supply on ebay, is this any good??

If you are up to the task, this PS seems to be perfect for converting. Dual 12v rails, 10A and 8A, power two chargers for $15, what else could you want?

  14. RE: E-maxx motor question (not about brushless)

It's worth it to get the S-600's. The E-savage motors probably aren't going to be much, if any better than the E-maxx motors. My buddy recently swapped his stock e-sav motors for a couple of...

RE: Pede 5700 gearing questions for bashing???

Geared 15/90 with Mashers and 3s A123's my motor hits about 180 according to my Temp Gun.

Geared 17/86 on Anaconda's with 3s A123's its about 190-200 after a full pack and lots of high speed WOT...

You can't run two 7-cell packs on the stock E-Maxx ESC can you?

RE: Pede 5700 gearing questions for bashing???

Probably wanna stick with 12/90 or 12/86. You'll go plenty fast geared that way, trust me!

RE: Pede 5700 gearing questions for bashing???

For general bashing I stay with a 12/90 on a 3s a123 setup (9.9v). If your running 6 or 7 nimh's you can probably get away with 15/90 or 15/86 and when you just wanna go as fast as you can, gear up...
  19. RE: Tamiya Dark Impact Vs Duratrax Evader BX

For backyard bashing you would probably be better off with an out of the box RTR XL-5 Stampede. In completely stock form it's absolutely perfect for backyard bashing.

RE: How to eliminate Mamba Max cogging

There appears to be two different sets of cogging issues with the MM set.

RE: How to eliminate Mamba Max cogging

OK I notice a couple of things that could help:

    1) Flip your battery around - There is LOTS of power coming through those wires at the end of the battery, and they are less than an inch away...

RE: How to eliminate Mamba Max cogging

    The keys to MM glitching:

    1) GOOD BATTERIES (a123's are da bomb)
    2) Move the RX and antenna as far away from every other wire as possible. I'm running a Pede with the FLM Super Extended...

RE: Im building a 12S A123 from dewalt pack

Could make two seperate 6S packs, charge and balance them seperately and make a series connection adapter to run them in series as a 12S pack for your application.
