Thanks so much for replying! The radio is fine, in that everything else is responding, so I guess it's motors next!
What are the stock motors on the Robbe U47? Speed 600 or something? So what...
I'm new to the Tamiya M-chassis.
I have a Tamiya M-05 which I assume is in short wheelbase mode because the Mini Cooper body fits on it at present. I need to convert it to, I think,...
Anyone? Anyone? Bueller?
Otherwise, I'll just order another 8367 ESC and see if that fixes it.
Well I'm stumped.
I acquired a beautiful Robbe U47 running the Rokraft 8367 ESC. It has worked fine for years, but has just recently started playing up.
There are two big...
Thanks for the kind reply, but we got the engine sorted: Just crashed the plane!
* It was running beautifully on the test bench before I put it in the airframe
* Two needles per carb: One for...
Well I like to think so: Been flying since 1995, BMFA B-Certificate holder.
First two attempts were engine failure, plain and simple, at a site with no room to glide it in. That's why I got...
Test flight today: It crashed again. Gutted. That's the third time.
I feel that I canβt give up on though it as my late father wanted it to get airborne, so I plan to repair it over the...
Ahhh, right. Good.
It's running fine now: Took the plugs out, found the front cylinder flooded (don't know why, the T-piece for fuelling is on the supply to the rear cylinder, plus what you said...
Right, thank you.
Just tried it: It fires up and runs instantly, but won't run right. It's 2000 rpm short of what it was and I'm trying to work out if it's just running on one cylinder.
You're so right. I know it's unwise to try and do anything aviation-related to a deadline.
Is that right about the vent tube though?
Right, just got in from the workshop having finished the re-plumbing of the tank. It took about 2 hours to get one of the carbs back in: Made me wonder how I got it out in the first place.
Yep! Cost an absolute bloody fortune! I have to get this thing in air though: It has massive emotional excess baggage attached.
So last night I started the job of re-plumbing the tubes to the fuel tank and I think I found the problem! (First picture)
It's a bit blurry, but it's a picture of a melted fuel...
WHOA! Awesome theory! That's a revelation! Coincidentally, having just tried a couple of other things that didn't work, next I was just about to embark on the project of giving them a separate fuel...
I'm blown away by the response here, you're all very kind, thank you so much!
I'll take some pictures when I can (hopefully Tuesday)
Tried RichardGees start technique: I printed it off and...
P.S. Been doing some more research: At the moment I have a single clunk in the tank and a single fuel line that then splits into two at a T-piece and goes off to each carb. For a twin cylinder, it...
First of all, thanks so much for all your kind responses and help.
Apologies for my ignorance, but this is my first ever gas engine (many years of aeromodelling, but all glow...
Would a larger pressure nipple on the exhaust help? Or an extra pressure line coming off the exhaust? Large diameter pressure pipe from the exhaust?
Thanks for replying and thanks for the insight about the carbs.
I got through a whole can of Easy Start today trying to get it started! I was spraying it in to the carbs on each attempt: It...
So I have a 45cc twin cylinder (two carbs) petrol (gas) two-stroke engine in my 5th scale Spitfire. It's VERY hard to start: Symptoms suggest it's struggling to get the fuel...
Ah, very nice!
Excellent, I'll have a couple of those! Thank you very much for the links.
Yes, they break very easily, I've found. You can see a crack in the one on my yellow Beetle: It broke in my hand before I could even get it on the car!
Aftermarket rear cross brace made of...
Thank you very much! Much appreciated.
I found a better way to do the front body shell mounting! My one snapped off. It was nice and stiff and not wobbly, but I was testing the car without the body shell on and it flipped over...
