I too ran into the same sort of problem you are having, the jigs are somewhat clumsy and really don't do the job as intended. I knew that I had built a straight wing, so I just managed to jig it up...

You can get the canopy through Topflite or Tower Hobbies, I think on average they come in around 30 pounds when glassed and painted.
