Thanks again, great information.

I'm just going back to glow power. For me, other than cleanup, it's just much easier. Or at least I fully understand it.

So apparently that shaft is held in y two allen screws and is pressed into the motor. I used it with the compression collet today and it was flawless.

Great! thanks for the help. So to do a lot of back to back flights I really need to invest in more battery packs. Most of my flying field time will be after work so the time is somewhat limited. An...

New again...

I'm not a first timer to helicopters, but I have been out of the hobby for years. My last helicopter was a Raptor .50 nitro that I really enjoyed flying. It was ROCK solid in all conditions and...

RE: Which electric heli????

That's good advice, the heli shop I bought my first .30 Raptor from had ARF helis they had built, but the HIGHLY recommended getting a kit a building it. I did have the luxury of having them do the...

RE: Which electric heli????

So a 550 heli sounds like what I'd like. Now the question is which one again? Is there a RTF version of the Raptor? I guess my only hesitation there would be parts availability form the LHS versus...

RE: Which electric heli????

I just flew the Nano...4 times. The first flight it was really squirrelly...then I settled down and figured out that you breath on the sticks and the heli responds. Actual inputs to the sticks made...

RE: Which electric heli????

My raptor .50 had a futaba gy401 and I swear the tail was just amazingly solid. He guy who set it up took it up and flew some pretty wild 3d with it to make sure it was set up right. I never had to...

RE: Which electric heli????

I picked up a Nano about an hour ago. I've set up the radio and I'll fly it in a few hours. Although I've flown .50 size helis quite a bit it has been a while. I do know that the .50 I had flew much...

RE: Which electric heli????

Great input! I'll go grab a nano today. I used to have nitro helis, a raptor .30 and a .50. Neither of which I'd try to fly inside. This is why I was asking about a 300 to 450 size helicopter. So is...

RE: Noob to electric helis

I'm pretty much set on a radio, the Spektrum DX8 DSMX. It seems like everyone has the same prices on it. $349 for transmitter only.

I've also been looking at the Blade 300X and the 450X. From...

Well, I still want a bigger heli, but I like what I've seen of that Blade on Youtube. Looks like alot of fun! It's cheap to buy too. I need to get a radio first, probably this coming week.

I used to bring a quick charger with me to the flying field. But I'll probably do most of my flying at the shop or at home.

Ok then, mode 2 is what I've always flown. I'm looking at radio setups too now. I was thinking about my past radios, I know I used futaba with my last helicopter...but I seem to recall that the logic...
