RE: 3rd boat. flat deck 3-point hydro

That foam pad on your tank will cause air drag and slow you down . NOT MUCH but a little . You have to decide if the benifit is enough to put it on there . Just an observation . Everything else looks...

RE: 4th boat build. Mini-Kaze Stepboat

Looking at the pictures I see you are going with a push pull rudder system . You are not worried about cable buckle on hard turns ? Maybe a pull pull would be better .

    RE: Gasoline Engines

You can sometimes get them (weed whackers) for free if you watch for them in the trash or laying idle in somebodys grage because they don't run . Usually the only reason they don"t run is the muffler...

    RE: .40-.46 build plans

What you are seeing is the angle . If you were to make that line 90* to the deck and not shorten it it would be longer than 2" . The formers are 2" high .

    RE: what size boat

Make the deck about 2 inches wider than the prop you are going to use . When you scale the plans up let the other dimensions come out as they may . It usually ends up that the lenght is a little more...

    RE: motor mount

One thing you might want to look at when you make another mount is that the holes are not oversize and that they are lined up with the motor holes . It also might help to add a doubler under the...

  15. RE: What's better? SINGLE or DOUBLE rudder for a gasser

I don't know what your set up is But it makes a big difference if you have a pull - pull linkage and a servo big enough to handle the load . The gasser I have was like that . It would turn good...

    RE: Chain saw engines

I know back a few years before electronic ignition the engines with points used to do funny things to radios . We had to shield the plug wires and all sorts of stuff to try to make it work .

RE: Rcbif's 31cc Ryobi Gasser Airboat Project

Go to the hardware store and get some 1/16" or 1/8" thick by 1/2" wide aluminum . It is easy to form and can be put together with small bolts and nuts . All you would need is a drill and a hacksaw or...

RE: Rcbif's 31cc Ryobi Gasser Airboat Project

Find you an old luan door and carefully strip the skins off from it . I've made a few boats out of that wood . Its not as strong as birch ply but it is about 1/8" thick and some of it has good grain...

RE: My first build. Need some ideas.

You might want to look at the distance between the muffler stacks and the deck . Might be close enough to blister the finish .

  25. RE: Newbie needing help with motor choice(electric)

I have a e-flite 480 motor and with a 9X4.5  prop it puts out a little over 3lbs of thrust . The boat I have it on runs great on land but the design don't work on water .
