sahartman, what do you use for the thinner head shim? i found that the old magnum 40XL head shim fit, but i think last time I looked for them I could not find them on the global parts site.what do...

RE: Avenger assembly question

Which AVENGER are you building? The older SSCAVENGER, or the newer B2+? The SSCAVENGER had a slightly smaller wing area and much thinner core, it was relatively easy to build near minimum weight...

RE: Muffler Mute (Baffle)

40FP E3030 muffler came with a mute from the factory. The current LA muffler comes with one also (I think it is also the 3030 muffler, in fact???). Don't know about the Tower 40, suspect probably...

RE: O.S. Max .15 CV-A Interchange with a CV-X series

OS made a version like this, it was the CV-A case with the CV-X pis/cyl. This was a pipe-timed engine and was called the CV-DF (ducted fan), for use in Kyosho ducted fan ARFs. designed for high-rpm...

RE: Super Tigre S25

I don't have any knowledge of this specific engine but many NIB STs and Comos of that approx. vintage that I have had all came with carb restrictors from the factory. It's easy to see, it is an...

RE: Super Tigre S25

make sure the carb restrictor is out! there aren't many "factory" mufflers that will be less restrictive than the 25FP muffler (make sure it does not have a baffle in it), you could ream out the...

RE: O.S. LA40 carb

I have several LA and FP 40s and last time i checked, the LA carb actually has a bigger choke (hole in the barrel) than the Fp carb, so the Fp carb won't do you any good. Unless OS has made a...

RE: Recomended Open

everything Montague said is exactly correct. the Webra on a muffler with a 2548/LimB prop is a stone. On a mcp with a smaller prop it is a powerhouse. I have had some webras that would not get on...

RE: Carb for 25 FX

That's what I do, I run a short stub of fuel tubing from the RNV to a filter, and disconnect the fuel line at the filter for refueling. Getting to the fitting on the RNV can be a real pain.

RE: Carb for 25 FX

The 25FX has a 13mm neck carb. the easiest FNV carb is the one from the 32SX-H, it not only has the FNV, but it has a larger choke area so you will get a performance boost as well. No 25FX stock...

RE: Super Tigre S25

The S25 looks very similar to the S29, it's the same basic engine. I have never run an S25 but have lots of S29s. It is a fine running powerful and durable engine. The muffler spacing is the same...

RE: Combat leading wing tip material

Agree with Kirk. I would add that the Tanglefoot seems to get pretty thin when it is really hot and sunny, while the bird repellent gets very stiff when it's shilly. So I tend to use bire repellent...

RE: Legal muffler 2548 ?

I am the nitwit who wrote the RCCA Limited B engine rules. The 2548 and Limited B engine rules were “harmonized” so the same powerplants could be used in both classes. 2548 and Limited B were...

RE: Is an APC 8x4 Sport too much prop for an OS .10 LA?

for a bomber I would think you would want thrust. the MA 8x3 prop works really well on the .10 engine and gives very good thrust.

RE: norvel 25

The norvel 25 LOVES a MCP but is stong even on a muffler. Try the MA 9x4 prop, it is not as efficient as the APC 9x4 but it is a lighter load and really allows the engine to get "on the pipe." Also...

RE: Receiver for combat?

I've been using the Hitec 4, 5, and 6 channel SC Rx in combat for three years without a single problem. We also use the Electron 6 and 555 with excellent results.

RE: Super Tigre Como .51?

forgot to mention i have several ABC Como 51s so if anyone is looking for one, PM me. Don't fly that size much any more, mostly fly 25 combat or 40/45 sport pylon.

RE: Super Tigre Como .51?

ST did not make an ABC .51 but Como did. It is a very powerful engine. It's schneurle scavenged, not cross-flow. It's in the same case size as the old S40/45 so it's compact and lightweight...

how 'bout machining or belt sanding the muffler mounting face back until you get past the broken area and have a nice flat surface again. If you need the original muffler spacing for fuse clearance,...

RE: Combat Bug has bitten

for practice, try using long leader strings- like 15 feet or so, it seems to help reduce midairs. also use a high-visibility streamer color. Black is best, or any real dark color. Regular party...
