    Also double check your rpm reading on startup..if it does not look quite right then the trick for that is to take a magnet and bring it in close proximity to the rpm sensor....to "defrag" the sensor...

    before you send it all back try this....take a magnet..like that from a screw pick-up...wave the magnet over the sensor a few times then see if it gets better....the Ram turbines would sometimes do...

    Diesel works just fine...what you will notice the first time you do it is that you will get the same rpm at a slightly lower pump voltage..but I use it in a similar engine with 2 cycle synthetic...
