    Crazy enough to work?

As you may (or may not) have noticed, I'm the kinda guy who likes to make things using whatever I have laying around.
Buying something that's already put together has never interested me, and if I...

    RE: Chainsaw Powered Car

    Well, hello again.:D

After having pulled apart around half a dozen old motors in search of the ultimate clutch setup I think I've finally got it.
One of the problems I was facing was having to...
  11. RE: Past/Present Project Pictures ???

I was more referring to the size of the project.

  12. RE: Tilting a lawnmower motor 90 degrees.

Ah yes well guys, I'm gonna put this project on hold for a bit anyway, as I have too many things on the go at the moment.
It wasn't to be used in any kind of RC project anyway, but a powered...

    RE: Quarter Scale Dragster

    Wow.
    Just wow.
    [X(][X(][X(][X(][X(][X(][X(]

I'm gonna have to come down south one day to see this thing in real life!
  14. RE: Tilting lawnmowermotor on its side?

It was not for an RC project anyway.
Dosen't matter, I'm not gonna do anything with it at the moment.
  15. RE: Past/Present Project Pictures ???

    114cc motor eh?
    Building quite a monster then.
  16. RE: Tilting lawnmowermotor on its side?

Yeah like I said, with a 2-stroke it's ok as the oil is in the fuel.
4-strokers have a separate oil reservoir, just like on your car.

Anyways, I've decided to put [whatever I was gonna do with...
  17. RE: Tilting lawnmowermotor on its side?

With a 2-stroke it will be ok.
Are you thinking of this buggy?

Yeah my chainsaw car is still waiting for its wheels before it can be rebuilt.
  18. RE: Tilting a lawnmower motor 90 degrees.

    [:@][:@][:@][:@][:@]

Just tried unscrewing one of the studs, and of course it snapped.....
Ah well, I'll have to drill that hole out and re thread it I guess.
At least I didn't crack the...
  19. RE: Tilting a lawnmower motor 90 degrees.

Only problem would be the long studs that are already there, as they will be in the way of the carb itself.
Are they just screwed in to the cylinder?
I'd hate to crack the body trying to remove...
  20. RE: Tilting a lawnmower motor 90 degrees.

    ;)Pictures posted.
Mounting it to the project is not going to be a problem.
Just making something to turn the carby.

  22. Tilting lawnmowermotor on its side?

    Hey.
I scored a free (my favourite price :D) 2-stroke suzuki lawnmower motor, and am looking at flipping it up so the output shaft is horizontal.
As far as I can see it should be pretty easy as...

That's why I called this thread I'm sure most of you have seen this
    ;)

Yeah but the Top Gear boys are more fun to watch.

Mythbusters is getting a bit old and far fetched now.
