I tore out the tunnel on mine, haven't touched the hatch. Have not reweighed or flown it since. I still may fork out some money for some carbon fibre in the future

This will be my first boat - I've done cars, airplanes, helis. I don't know much about running gear for scale boats, what are some good recommendations for whats currently on the market? I know...

RE: Bud Nosen 1/4 Cub build?

That appears correct. I'm just getting to the strut stage, but I'm probably going to try a different approach, just not sure what that is yet.

RE: Bud Nosen 1/4 Cub build?

The ailerons are just the tips of the ribs. You cut along the dotted/scored line (if there are any left). That made them a bit out of proportion, though, so if you can find any aileron stock you...

RE: Bud Nosen 1/4 Cub build?

I think most the info is on the plans. If I remember correctly (I'm currently working out of town so I can't check right now) there are some dowels that align it, and they are bolted on from inside...

RE: AMR 33% Waco YMF-5 Build

I'll take as much info on the taping procedure and layout as possible! I haven't any progress done as it's been super cold here and I didn't want to fire up the furnace in the shop unless I could...

RE: AMR 33% Waco YMF-5 Build

Interesting, I have the same gear and I can't remember who it was at AMR I talked to, but they said they preferred the old gear.

RE: AMR 33% Waco YMF-5 Build

Lol, did you mean 3 or 2 hole? The instructions I have show the front spar aluminum brackets opposite of what your picture shows - 2 hole in front of the spar, and 1 hole behind the spar, or facing...

RE: AMR 33% Waco YMF-5 Build

Also, I notice on page 3, your aluminum brackets on the front spar are opposite of what my instructions specify. I have the double hole bracket in front of the spar, and the single hole bracket...

RE: AMR 33% Waco YMF-5 Build

My one week progress... Unfortunately it's back to the cub mostly for now. It will be hard staying away from this kit, though, it is a real pleasure to build.

RE: AMR 33% Waco YMF-5 Build

I'm sure the 215 and 250 are more than enough! I'm sure the 150 would be just right for scale. I'll post a couple pics soon. Just glued in the aluminum brackets then I'll do the webbing tonight. I...

RE: AMR 33% Waco YMF-5 Build

Good idea, thanks. I am just temporarily starting the Waco while on time off until the 7th. I'll be back to finishing my Nosen cub before I go full speed on this. The only reason I'm not finishing...

RE: AMR 33% Waco YMF-5 Build

Just wondering if you put shear webbing on one or both sides of the front spar (top wing). I have both the Genesis and AMR manuals and the Genesis says both sides but AMR says only rear side of front...

RE: AMR 33% Waco YMF-5 Build

All this activity has convinced me to start my Waco finally. I hope to get the wing panels mostly done before I go back to work the 7th. Good luck on the rebuild!
