I enjoy the building part as much as driving, so I too prefer kits. And it seems the RTR stuff usually needs upgraded so you end up spending more in the long run to get the vehicle to perform how you...

Castle 3800kv 1410 motor. Had that motor and a sidewinder esc (would not recommend in the XS) and it is a beast.

Tape is the only real solution unless you rig up some sort of seal in the hull where the hatch and hull meet. On my old Rio I had the same problems. A little tape did the trick. It's really not that...

RE: OFFICIAL HPI Sprint 2 Thread (Sport and Flux)

I just saw this and it looks freakin' awesome. I may have to part with one of my trucks to pick this up. I'd rather buy a roller and paint the body and get the wheels myself but of course to get...

CNC props?

Anybody tried the CNC props at OSE? I was browsing the site yesterday and saw them listed. "Ready to use" right out of the box, no sharpening or balancing. Just curious, for roughly 20 bucks they...

RE: Official HPI Savage Flux XS thread...

If you run on a ot of pavement, yes. On 2s the truck will flip on its lid from even a slow 5mph roll. Lots of dirt? With the stock tires no way in hell. Maybe with a good set of pro-lines.

RE: My take on Traxxas

I've owned a few Traxxas vehicles, and after owning HPI and AE I'll never go back.

RE: Official HPI Savage Flux XS thread...

Bit the bullet and just ordered an rtr xs. My sc10 4x4 isn't as suitable for a basher, so I figured 'd get one of these. Hopefully I'll have it this week.

RE: Am I the only one that thinks Traxxas should make an E-Jato?

True, but they could do the same thing with the Jato chassis (share it among 3 other RC vehicles).

RE: Am I the only one that thinks Traxxas should make an E-Jato?

I understand what its original design was intended for, but it would be a nice replacement for the dinosaur Rustler chassis. It's much more tuneable and better built IMO.

RE: Am I the only one that thinks Traxxas should make an E-Jato?

Not my point. I'm talking factory built, dedicated Electric Jato.

Am I the only one that thinks Traxxas should make an E-Jato?

I've been thinking about this lately. I had a Jato but sold it a couple years ago. I absolutely loved the truck. I also owned (for a short time) a VXL Rustler. The Jato has a much better design and...

RE: AquaCraft Motley Crew Off-Shore FE Catamaran

Got my OSE shafts in the mail yesterday so I put it together last night and finally got some runs on the pond. This thing handles like its on rails! It was fairly windy and I managed to catch air...

RE: So I've got a Rio EP...flexshaft won't fit.

That is the flexshaft I ordered. The tube appears to be perfectly fine, not squished at all. I will get the micrometer out and measure the diam. of the shaft and the inner diam. of the tube. I...

It won't fit once it gets to the prop shaft.

Fits fine here.

RE: AquaCraft Motley Crew Off-Shore FE Catamaran

Yep just ordered two of OSE's shafts and an extra prop. Then hopefully get a few runs in with no issues.

RE: AquaCraft Motley Crew Off-Shore FE Catamaran

Yes the Motley Crew. Honestly I'm not very surprised, almost counted on it actually. I read that they were junk and I've had past issues with Aquacrafts flex cables. Regardless, I would have...

RE: AquaCraft Motley Crew Off-Shore FE Catamaran

Well I took mine out today for it's maiden voyage; didn't get very far. Stock prop, stock shaft (pulled it and filed down the sharp edges on the motor end and re-soldered) and 2 gens ace 2s 4000mah...

So I've got a Rio EP...flexshaft won't fit.

After trying to do some "stunts" with the old Rio EP, I managed to rip the flex cable completely out of the boat. I ordered two direct replacements from tower, but neither of them fit. I was just...

RE: AquaCraft Motley Crew Off-Shore FE Catamaran

First fast electric. I switched from the nitro side, the constant tuning and fuel was a pain. I've still got my old MV...it moved pretty good on 50% and Grim 36x55

RE: AquaCraft Motley Crew Off-Shore FE Catamaran

That is the plan! I've been running a Rio ep every now and then for the past couple summers and decided I wanted something a little more serious.
