Break-in on the ground or in the air?

I'm finishing up my winter build and haven't decided if I want to bench run the engine for a few tanks or simply bolt it on and go fly. The engine is a Brillelli 36GT, never run before. I'm not in a...

RE: What voltage on Tx is too low to fly safely?

Here's your FLAMES!!!!

Just kidding.

Funny thing about manuals, I looked in the TOC, looked through the chapters where I thought this info should be... nothing. Maybe I'm an idiot, maybe...

What voltage on Tx is too low to fly safely?

I'm flying the Spectrum DX-7 with stock Tx pack (1,500 NiMh If I recall correctly). I generally stop flying when the indicator is just above half, or about 9.4 - 9.6 volts. I ask this question for a...

Anyone ever build a Lanier 1/4 scale Taylorcraft?

I've had this kit for a few years now and finally am starting the build - going to build the clipped version. Looks to be rather straight forward as far as kits go, lots involved but I guess that's...

Building board/glue suggestions

I'm about to start a Lanier 1/4 scale Taylorcraft kit and would appreciate some suggestions. I've built numerous kits over the years so I'm not new to building but thought I'd look for new techniques...

Nose, neutral, or tail heavy best for IMAC?

What is the preferred IMAC way to set CG, nose heavy, neutral, or slightly tail heavy?

Not being into 3D at all I always try to set up my planes so that they are a touch nose heavy of neutral....

Upgrade on DX7 for automatic timer?

I searched this forum but couldn't come up with any information. Has Spektrum done a software upgrade for the DX7 to enable the throttle stick to start and stop the timer? Really miss that feature...

RE: Great Planes Edge 540T

Just picked up one of these the other day for my next e-project. When I was inspecting everything I noticed that the cowl seems like it comes off way too easy and was wondering if anyone has had...

RE: BME 58 Extreme

I've been chasing this burble for five years now. New carb, tried with the velocity stack on and off, tapped and routed a pressure relief tube back to fuse, adjusted needles endlessly, new plugs,...

RE: BME 58 Extreme

You fellas still have your 58's? Thinking of picking one up for a 84" MX-2 that currently has a Brillelli 46GT in it. I can't get that motor to run correctly to save myself - mid range burble only in...

RE: Anyone running a First Place Engine?

That's a good point about the side carbs. I'm running a Brillelli 46 in a 16.5# MX-2 right now and can't for the life of me get rid of mid range burble in the air. On the ground it's fine. I'm...

RE: AR9000 lost bind/won't re-bind

Spot on. Thanks. I swear I remember using the non-3wire switch to bind a different plane. Maybe getting old. Binding directly through the Rx worked like a charm, never knew you could do that. Thanks...

RE: AR9000 lost bind/won't re-bind

Oh yeah, sorry, I have the DX7.

When I plug the binding terminal into the battery lead on the switch and turn the switch on, neither Rx's LED lights flash as indicated in the manual.

RE: 30cc Edge 540 build

I have a Brillelli 36GT needing a mate. Seems like it would be a decent match up with the 30cc Edge. The RTF weight of the 36 is 50oz. Any opinions? Thanks.

AR9000 lost bind/won't re-bind

I tried to power up and the Tx & Rx wouldn't connect. Turned off both, turned both back on and they connected. Turned off so I could finish assembly and put batteries in my plane, powered back up to...

RE: 30cc Edge 540 QB Sneak Preview

Here's the problem with Aeroworks: their planes fly incredible, very precise, build quick and light, and they keep adding planes I need.

Seriously though, I have been waiting for this plane to...

RE: Wing tube too tight - need suggestions please

Thanks for the advice. The wings are foam core so I'll try the sand paper routine first, and oh yeah, won't drill the wing tube.

Wing tube too tight - need suggestions please

I am putting together a 50cc bird with a 1.25" aluminum wing tube. The tube is extremely tight, a good thing to a point. I've tried talcum powder and run the tube in and out of each wing panel a few...

Brillelli 46GT & 35cc Extra, or...??

Suggestions for Edge/46GT Brillelli

I have a Brillelli 46GT that needs a home and I think I need an Edge as I've always had Extras and wish to try an Edge this time around. I've got my picks narrowed down to the following.
