RE: Showtime 50 anyone?

What kind of fuel consumption should I expect from the Saito 100, and what size prop do you guys think would be best suited for the ST50 / Saito 100 combination.

RE: Showtime 50 anyone?

I have a question in regards to which engine to use on the ST50. Out of the Saito 82, Saito 91, and Saito 100, it appears that more comments are made towards using the 91 as opposed to the 82,...

RE: Smoke System for Saito 82

FYI / TIP:

For the smoke fitting on the muffler, instead of just a regular tap, or JB welding a piece of copper tubbing, use the needle valve assemble from an old .40 size carburetor, depending...

RE: CALLING ALL "TAURUS" OWNERS.

This is a Taurus thread not a prop thread, so forgive me, but one last note;

A tachometer has a placebo effect, they will swear that it is flying better because the prop turns faster on the...

RE: CALLING ALL "TAURUS" OWNERS.

I am not sure what RPM I am getting on my TS-52 but it is swinging the XOAR 23x8 very well, it will hang on the prop at around 1/3 throttle and wot sounds really good.

The 22x8 I was using...

RE: CALLING ALL "TAURUS" OWNERS.

Great looking airplane, and great engine, can't go wrong!

Do you have any other pics of the airplane? What prop are you using?

RE: What's your favorite beater plane?

You know, I think there is something built in a Kougar that forces people to do inverted low passes. At first I thought it was just me, and liking to do inverted low passes, but it seems that most...

RE: airwild extra 260 29% who's got one?

True, weight was one factor that I noticed different. I just didn't take that into account as even when I buy the same size from the same manufacturer there is slight differences in weight.

RE: airwild extra 260 29% who's got one?

Can someone tell me the difference between the NX and XOAR standard props?

I am unable to tell the difference, I have both the NX and XOAR, 23x8.

If you put them side by side they look...

RE: airwild extra 260 29% who's got one?

I don't think its about putting an airplane down, its about letting others know what to look out for and prevent issues.

Having been in the hobby for over 18 years, and seeing all types of...

RE: airwild extra 260 29% who's got one?

I was thinking about applying a very light glass cloth. Same typed used with fiberglassing an entire airframes.

Did you happen to contact AW about this?

RE: What's your favorite beater plane?

SIG Kougar is hard to beat for an all around sport plane. My favorite high wind plane, I have flown it in 35+ mph winds. SuperTigre 75 for power, 100+ MPH but will slow down for nice controlled...

RE: 100+ mph sport plane??

I have a SIG Kougar with a SuperTigre 75 (11X10 Prop). Very fast well over 100MPH, excelent handling, specially in high winds, I have flown this in winds gusting to 35/40 MPH.

Excelent all...

Thanks for the heads up, I will keep a close eye on it.

Did you do anything to strengthen the engine box?

RE: airwild extra 260 29% who's got one?

NuttyPro,

4 months? How much actual flight time do you have? I have an AW 260 with a Taurus TS-52 running a 23x8 Xoar. I have 15+ hours of actual flight time (60+ 15 minute flights) and I do not...

RE: CALLING ALL "TAURUS" OWNERS.

I did finally find the right bolt for the spinner.

This has to be one the best combinations I have flown. A 29% at 14.9 Lbs. it will hover at under 1/3 throttle, and the engine, well, it’s...

RE: CALLING ALL "TAURUS" OWNERS.

RCIGN1

4 inches seems a little long for a spinner bolt, maybe this is normal, but do you see an issue in using such a long bolt?

RE: CALLING ALL "TAURUS" OWNERS.

I have a question regarding the TS-52 and spinners.

I know I know it’s not a Tru-Turn, (even if it were a Tru-Turn I think the issue would be the same) but I purchased a 4” Dave Brown...

RE: CALLING ALL "TAURUS" OWNERS.

I agree about the Zinger, performance seems to fall short. I am not sure if it is flattening out or what is going on but the RPM’s seem too high with the Zinger and its bark is louder than its...

RE: CALLING ALL "TAURUS" OWNERS.

Out of curiosity, what prop are you guys running on the TS-52?

I have a TS-52 on a 17 year old RoadRunner, and so far I have only tried two different props, a Zinger 22x8 Pro / NX 23x8, even at...

RE: 50cc engine choice

msouth12,

The Taurus’s radial mount is right at 4” across, I would imagine that this would fit most airplanes without a problem, and it looks really nice.

I was thinking the same thing...
