Hey Guys,

I have a new web site www.ape-rc.com and have added the headers to the site. No need to PM me here to get purchasing info.

I hope you all are doing well.

RE: SAM's Big Kahuna, April 1st

Heat is your friend when disassembling motors. Bearings will fall out, sleeves that are seemingly welded into a case slide out, drive washers that have been over tightened on collets magically pop...

I've been rebuilding motors for 15 years or so. I have a battery terminal puller from Sears that I use to pull drive washers. I put it on and tension the puller, then hit the washer with a propane...

RE: Wing profiles

I used a NACA 66012 on my YS110 powered Strega a couple years ago. The plane picked up about 10mph over the stock wing. You might want a little camber in the airfoil you could try a 66212 instead.

I've heard that one of the Morgan Hill group is a little worse for wear, but will be OK.

I talked to Jimmy Leeward via email last January when I was building my last P51 racer. I still have the...

RE: world models t-34

APC 9.5x6 is generally the fastest.
APC 10x5 can be fast if you're very smooth and fly right on the pylons.

RE: Selling my Gold/Unlimited/120 Warbird

He likes the trucks, but he's not a very good driver yet. I have to turn the EPA on his throttle down to keep him from crashing into every wall on the course. I actually took the EPA knob off his...

RE: Selling my Gold/Unlimited/120 Warbird

Thanks Vic. It's been fun but my 7 year old is more interested in trucks at the moment. I'd rather do something we can enjoy together.

Hmmm, I can't upload the pictures at the moment, so email...

RE: Warbird Race - Morgan Hill, CA - October 2nd

I tried rubbing compound, but the grooves where the element burned into the seats were just too deep. I need to make a lap and use some lapping compound. [:o]

My son and I went to our first RC...

RE: Warbird Race - Morgan Hill, CA - October 2nd

Well, I'm out. I went out today and got one semi-decent run and then the motor started acting up. After working on it 2-3 hours at the field I

RE: How do you lap a YS valve

If you decide to use a drill or Dremel I would use toothpaste. Lapping compound will be too abrasive. Lapping compound also tends to embed into aluminum.

Good luck,

RE: YS F-120 Low Compression?

+1 on ThumbSkull's suggestion to get it in a plane or on a stand and get some fuel in it. Once you get it started and run it the compression will (probably) come back up.

140 DZ piston
140 DZ rod

160 DZ wrist pin, solid pin, cut down .050" on each end. You could cut the teflon retainers down instead if...
