RE: New Avalanche XTR - Servo too weak?

<p class="MsoNormal">Hey just wanted to add something to this. I have the Avalanche XTE. I&rsquo;m guessing that the chassis steering setups are the same. I noticed that my truck didn&rsquo;t turn...
  2. RE: Can Caldera 10e and Hurricane xte take 3-4 cell lipos?

I would go with ShredderGuy, I have a hurricane, that I modded using the electric components of an 8e. 3200Mah 20C batteries mated with the esc that is rated for 80A. I normally drive the car but...

    RE: On / Off Switch

You can do a general web search for rocker switch and replace it for about $6 shipped. You can also go to a local store and get it cheaper if you have a tech type store. The only problem would be...
  4. RE: Can Caldera 10e and Hurricane xte take 3-4 cell lipos?

The speed&#160;controllers&#160;will not work with anything other than the 2C's but according to the specs you could bump up the discharge rate of the 2C's. I would suggest buying the car first though. I've...

    RE: Avalanche XP

I'm still having fun with my Hurricane XP.
  6. RE: aftershock 8e wheel question

Yeah I put the Redcat extensions, / 17mm conversion, on and they were enough to run the larger tires. At top speed that tire is probably more like 9" tall and 0.5" wide. The Earthquake flies on that...
  7. RE: aftershock 8e wheel question

The Avalanche tires not pictured are over 6" tall and 3.8" wide.

    Here is my conversion.
  9. RE: aftershock 8e wheel question

I've done the reverse as well.
  10. RE: aftershock 8e wheel question

Do you have the heat sink or cooling fan option for system? I've taken my Aftershock and run it with Avalanche/Monsoon tires with no problems. I do run the fan and heat sink on my setup.

RE: redcat hurricane xte or monsoon xte

From my experience you can expect the back draft to be faster out of the box compared to the xte.

I don't own either buggy but i do own an aftershock and earthquake 8e. I did a custom...

    RE: new avalanche.

It might worth seeing if an 8E might be a fit? I don’t think the old nitro diffs will work. I drive my current 8E's with avalanche tires and I've never had a diff problem. I was hoping that my...

    RE: new avalanche.

    Just as a follow up.

I tried the shim but it wouldn't fit inside the diff housing without modification.

The gears pictured in the previous post were already to eaten up to make good...

    RE: new avalanche.

I noticed two issues with the rear differential.
    1. To big of a gap between the differential ring gear and differential pinion gear.
    2. Internal differential gears are damaged.
    To make up the...

    RE: new avalanche.

I’ve been out running the Avalanche now for a few runs. It’s been fun but I have had a few problems.
    1. Turning Radius
    2. Gear mashing when I accelerate hard.

    Iβ€˜ve been getting a lot...

    RE: Redcat electric monster trucks?

I just took my Avalanche out for its second run. I started to tear it down today to rebuild it and found it to be the best Redcat build that I have received from the factory. There is enough weight...

I thought I was going to make the jump!

I was out at the park bashing around and noticed a hill with a 2 inch raise at the very top that I thought I could make it over. I was wrong and paid the price. :)
