    RE: Couple of newbie questions

    Mike,

I was incorrect, my fuel flow is......
    Tank>UAT>filter>shut-off valve>solenoid>pump>turbine.

I know that people will argue that with the pump last in line that it can pull air from...

    RE: Couple of newbie questions

The guy I learned turbines from always went between the solenoid and the pump.
For excactly the reason stated above. If you're trying to shut one down, it's better to suck air than blow off a fuel...

RE: Model airplanes over NYC bad idea.

I was approached by the A&E network about getting some aerial footage for their hog hunting show that is filmed here in Texas.

Although it never came to pass I was not going to be compensated,...

RE: Buy a new or used turbine?

I have had 7 turbines from time to time. I have three currently.
All of them were purchased second hand and all but three from here on RCU.

I have yet to get a bad one......knock on wood.

    RE: Marketplace question

I pay fast and ship fast.

I also leave feedback as soon as someone else pays & wish others would do the same.

If you accept my offer at 6:00pm and I pay you by 9:00pm then I want to see...
  7. RE: Why Doesn't The AMA and the Hobby as a whole market to minorities?

The answer is simple . . . . Because right or wrong, the the Marketing Depts involved concluded that the data they had in front of them indicated that this will give them the best ROI.

    This...

  10. RE: Why Doesn't The AMA and the Hobby as a whole market to minorities?

What do the manufacturers have to do with it ?
The kid that does the reviews for NitroPlanes is Asian and I have no problems watching his videos.

As for who's photo gets used in the magazines,...

    RE: Dl Aeromodels Cyclone

I recently had a Cyclone 2 that was new & unbuilt.

Sold it to Knife Liddle here on RCU. He said he was going to make a killer electric out of it.
That's what I had intended but had too many...

    sorry, double post.
  13. RE: HELP! ProMark Dry Transfers not coming off on Flite Metal!

    Additionally,
No offense to the burnishing tool industry.
The best burnishing tool ever invented is a dull #2 pencil.
    IMO :)
  14. RE: HELP! ProMark Dry Transfers not coming off on Flite Metal!

I had a similar problem with a skymaster gripen. Although it was fiberglass rather than flitemetal, the underlying issue could be the same.

Think of it like this, you need to create a stronger...

    RE: Time For Your Input!

    Todd,
    Love your stuff.

I always wanted to see a fitting that uses bleed air from the turbine to
    fill/keep full the retract system.

It would probably need a ball-check type valve...
  16. RE: Wow the used jet market sucks to be selling right now!!!

    No worries. :)
I would have written the same stuff.

Used stuff is just dirt cheap right now.
Like Jeremy said, great time to buy, lousy time to sell.
  17. RE: Wow the used jet market sucks to be selling right now!!!

WOW ! What part of Miami do you live in ?

It wasn't my intent to fire you up so bad. :)
  18. RE: Wanted Old style BVM Mech retracts with metal frame

    Turnnburn,

I have one of the metal framed nose retracts that rotates the wheel 90 deg.
    It's in very good condition.

I have no idea what it's worth or even if it is what you are looking...
  19. RE: Wow the used jet market sucks to be selling right now!!!

I bought a guy out of the hobby a little over a year ago for $7500.
I figured that I could keep some of the juicy (nice) stuff for myself and sell the rest for $10,000 or more.
    No sooner did I...

    RE: JetJoeUS website

I have a JJ1800. I picked it up as part of a larger buy.
I'll admit, a raw JJ is not for someone with a short attention span.

However, having cut my teeth on a Simjet kit and having a...

RE: Changes to the Turbine Waiver test...

RE: Changes to the Turbine Waiver test...

Although I'm sure it's a positive step overall I'm glad I have my waiver already.
I doubt I ever would have turned the master controls of my Tx & jet over to anyone. :(

  24. RE: What would you do if you became a millionare

Absolutely nothing. . . . . I'd have the same job, same house and the same cars.
I would put in a nice pool with landscaping and I'd buy a loaded Malibu or Tige Wakeboard Boat for my family.
