RE: Broken DF... Swap gyros?

Thanks again for the advice. I went ahead and used Spectrolutions. No problems, and now my board works great!

Spectrolutions ROCKS!

Thank you for the tip on Spectrolutions! I will give them a try.

Broken DF... Swap gyros?

After killing the radio board on my old Draganfly, I bought another DF on Ebay. This one has the custom case and heavy-duty motors I was looking for, but it doesn't fly right. [:o]

Once it...

Where can I buy heavy duty motors?

I'm thinking of switching to heavy duty motors to increase my (camera) payload. I have a 4.2 oz camera my DF can currently just barely lift.

I checked...

RE: Another Custom Camera Mount

No. I don't remember reading that they make much of a difference. But I will if they can boost my payload from 4 to 9 oz!

RE: Another Custom Camera Mount

How do you lift that much weight with your DF? I can barely lift the 4.2 oz for my little camera. And for that, the DF batteries have to be just recently fully charged up!

Red LED on top - what is it?

My Draganfly spazzed out today (went into a crazy oscillation) just above my house, and smacked into my roof upside down. Now it behaves like my transmitter radio is turned off -- after I press the...

RE: Attached a camera to my DF!

This camera does have a continuous shooting mode, and I'll probably give that a try at some point so I can take more photos than the 10 that the self-timer gives me.

No, it doesn't have good...

RE: Attached a camera to my DF!

The styrofoam pieces are circular so I can rotate the camera to any angle. They're just held in place by those blue rubber bands.

I'm interested in wide angle landscape images, not close-ups.

RE: Attached a camera to my DF!

You can also see that just about every one of the plastic pieces on my DF is patched with glue!

Attached a camera to my DF!

After some practice with a 4 oz weight attached to my DF, I decide I was ready to risk attaching a camera and sending it aloft!

My camera is a Canon PowerShot SD40 "Elph", which weighs just over...

Best camera for aerial still photos?

I've been practicing lately flying my Draganfly with a 4oz weight strapped to the bottom so I can get enough flying confidence to finally take some aerial photos with a small digital camera. This is...

RE: Frankenstein Draganfly

Actually, I'm now finding that gooey glues work better. Epoxy is strong, but tends to shatter where the gooey glues will bend and give a bit. I'm using "shoe goo" because it's what I happen to have...

RE: Interferrence or lost FM radio signal?

Just to chime in with one more data point, my DF V Ti Pro also occasionally does the total power loss thing while flying. Usually for less than a second, but it's pretty spooky.

RE: Frankenstein Draganfly

The epoxy has been holding well. I'm using "J B Weld" brand, even though it's ugly grey.

RE: Frankenstein Draganfly

Thanks, Bruce! I never did work with the simulator; perhaps I should have. I'm at the point where I feel I *can* fly -- I can keep it hovering and basically staying in place or in small controlled...

RE: Frankenstein Draganfly

You can also see that I've added red/green/white LEDs (so I can tell the orientation when it's up high) and glued on stubby legs (plastic spray-can tubes) to protect the exposed capacitors on the...

Frankenstein Draganfly

I don't know about anyone else here learning to fly the Draganfly, but mine's starting to look pretty Frankenstein with all the epoxy and glued-thread stitches holding it together with all my crash...

RE: My first experience!

I did paint the front rotor (metallic bronze). The others are black. But at a distance in the bright sky, it turned out to still be difficult to tell which rotor is which.

RE: My first experience!

Today I went out to a school baseball field, and sure enough the TI does work! I had some fun trying flying with and without TI.

Flying high and fast is fun, but I eventually got...

RE: My first experience!

Oh, and since the nylon blades were all black, and those stickers on my old used foam blades always seem to be peeling off, I just spraypainted the front nylon rotor blade.

RE: Payload for Draganflyer V Ti?

Thanks!

(Makes me think I should consider motor abuse when looking at used Draganflys for sale ebay.)

Payload for Draganflyer V Ti?

Anyone know the payload capabilities of a base level Draganflyer V Ti? I'm thinking of carrying a stripped down ultra-compact digital (still) camera.

Thanks!
