RE: Q-500 speeds

Dave,
With a LS running at that speed - what is the RPM on what size prop? The noise level must be nuts.
I fly 424 with TT40 and have no true Q500 engine experience.
Thanks

RE: NURCAC Q500 (Northern UT) 2010

Ken, we fly the long 3 pole course. Standard 424 rules with a few exceptions. Any 'sport' engine available for retail sale under $100 - does not have to be TT40. Foam or rubber wheels required -...

My suggestions other than those you have already mentioned:
1 - make new rear former from ply rather than balsa - both of mine broke. The...

RE: What is hurting pylon

Is the economy the problem? I have a garage full of airplanes and the Q500 (424) are the least expensive of the bunch. Viper/TT40/basic servos and receiver can be had for $350 and with that you are...

RE: How did you come up with the names?

I use Mayfly but not here on RCU. It has nothing to do with the bug. But if I build a plane I figure it May Fly, it May Not. I name my planes in order - last one was Mayfly 19. Some have been more...

RE: The end of RCM and civilization as we know it

The original post is spot on. My son is one of the "geeks" and has now succumb to peer pressure and dropped most of the STEM classes. I beg him to come to the airplane field and he won't do it. ...

RE: Cleaning brunt oil off head fins

Try Dawn Power Dissolver. Just spary it on, let it sit for 1/2 an hour and rinse with water. Works great. This stuff is meant to clean burnt on food from pans but works great on engine gunk.
