I never did hear from Top Flite but adding material to the elevators so that they better matched the rear face of the stab worked out well, at least it looked nicer when finshed.

RE: Walbro High End Needle Cuts Out

I just had the same type of problem with the Walbro/Ryobi 31cc conversion in my Giant Super Sportster. I've been flying this plane and engine for 2 years with never a problem and the last time I had...

RE: Midwest Magician Build Question

Thanks Supertiga, I was just reading about the advantages of an adjustable leadout guide, maybe the next plane will get one. For this one I just finished cutting the slots through the tip plate and...

RE: Midwest Magician Build Question

cutaway,

Thanks! That is exactly what I needed to know. I think I will cut channels all the way through the tip plates, box them in and then glue the eyelets in after covering.

Thanks...

Midwest Magician Build Question

Hello all, I'm building my first C/L model (been building and flying RC for many years) and I have a question about how the leadout eyelets are supposed to be installed in the wingtip plate. I'm...

RE: CRRC 40cc kit

I just installed the purpose-made RCXCEL ignition on my CRRC 40 and the black silicone holding the magnet into the bracket failed on mine. I just used a little epoxy to glue it back in the bracket...

RE: New Giant GP Super Sportster!!!!!

It's been awhile since I put a tach on it but I seem to remember it turning around 6800-7000 rpm with the 16x10. I also use about 6 oz. of gas per 15 minute flight.

RE: New Giant GP Super Sportster!!!!!

Kostas,

Yes, it's a 30cc Ryobi. I thought I had some photos of it mounted on the plane but I can't find them on this computer, but it's a real simple installation, nothing special or difficult...

RE: New Giant GP Super Sportster!!!!!

Go for it! I fly mine with a converted Ryobi swinging a 16x10 prop and it is a nice combination.

RE: CRRC 40cc kit

I think I've found the problem. Looking at some other carbs (that I've never had apart!) I noticed that the throttle butterfly should angle in the other direction when closed. I was thinking that...

RE: CRRC 40cc kit

I ran into that problem but a couple of washers under the e-clip on the long end of the shaft took care of that. It opens and closes with no binding or friction at all. I'll post some photos here...

RE: CRRC 40cc kit

Jody,

I can certainly take some photos tomorrow after work. I'll shoot the mounted carb from top and bottom and then the carb itself after I take it off. Anything else you'd need to see?

RE: CRRC 40cc kit

The spring is unhooked but still in place to eliminate play in the shaft.

Butterfly still opens in the same direction, servo pushes to open, pulls to close the throttle.

Battery is a new...

RE: CRRC 40cc kit

Getting the screws away from the prop and up where I could get to them while the engine is running is why I swapped things around. Mine hasn't been hard to restart, just have to re-prime it every...

RE: CRRC 40cc kit

Good point, I suppose I'll need to switch it back to its original configuration just to eliminate the possibility. That will be what I try next.

Thanks! -Dan

RE: graphics font

Jeff,

Looks like a font called "Roost." I have only Roost Heavy on my Mac and you can see it is a bit bolder, if you can find regular Roost I think you'd have it exactly.

RE: CRRC 40cc kit

What? Are you saying that the engine I just bought from you guys is coming with an ignition that is unreliable? How would I go about getting the newer, better ignition parts?
