RE: 1/5.5 Scale SU-34

Yeah, but I'm behind you anyway - if you do want to do your own stuff, let me know, but I live that time issue everyday - I wish I could do the gear, but the time is the problem just like yourself.

RE: 1/5.5 Scale SU-34

Things like this are always underestimated and customers think it's easy..

Thanks, but look, I'm not trying to ruin the good time, only be honest and add some perspective. If you want to build...

RE: 1/5.5 Scale SU-34

You won't if you are buying the equipment we have - it looks a lot easier than it really is . . . . . but don't hesitate to do it, at least the school, but remember you won't just bounce into a CNC...

RE: 1/5.5 Scale SU-34

To clarify; we still do a majority of what we do, just not the one of a kind "this is the only set we'll ever make" stuff. When we did that (for about 20 years) the market constantly deteriorated...

RE: UAV Project, need some wheels n brakes.

We manufacture wheels and brake systems specifically for UAV operation, they are not converted model airplane parts.

Contact us with your specs, and I'll see what we can do.

RE: ? Glennis Aircraft?

Already had a couple of calls on this - it's not my dad (Glen) for those concerned - it's his wife and my mom (two different people) that are in bad shape. All of the other 'kids' are either in...

RE: ? Glennis Aircraft?

Calling is the easiest way to find out, but at this time I have multiple family members in very bad health, and one in the hospital so it is a rough time. As of 3:00 a.m Saturday morning I was in...

RE: Fliteskin ME 109F build thread

The Zero is my favorite airplane, not my favorite race car - Todd, you're killing me.

RE: Fliteskin ME 109F build thread

Actually I did have to make a beer run if you must know, stocking up for the weekend. Casey is really going all out on the detail on that 109 - something you don't see in this area.

RE: Scale FW-190 prop

Actually we started in December of 1989 - the online forums just started around 2000. It is funny how those threads died and disappeared, as did the ones who wrote them, and the moderators that...

RE: Aluminum Supplier in UAE / Dubai?

Thanks, but the aluminum is not the problem - I have bins full of drop (scrap), but I was trying to help him out by finding a more local source. I've been helping him learn machine work, and now...

RE: Aluminum Supplier in UAE / Dubai?

The problem is I have a shop full, but the shipping half way around the world is 4x what the aluminum costs. I was just trying to track down a source closer to him

I would need to know...

RE: Aluminum Supplier in UAE / Dubai?

Good idea, I hadn't thought of that. McMaster won't sell overseas except to established customers (they told me this morning). By the time someone buys it here and ships it, it will cost so much...

Aluminum Supplier in UAE / Dubai?

Any of you guys in this part of the world have a source for a modeler looking for aluminum for some modeling projects? I have a guy that wants to make some parts, but doesn't know where to source...

RE: Should I grease Glennis wheel brakes

Don't grease the brakes - this is not necessary like it is with an O-ring brake. Why? It attracts dirt and grit and that causes brake problems. The brake is a low pressure brake, and 40 lbs is...

RE: sliding canopy question

Why? That doesn't make any sense. Making the rail and slider is very simple to do - the slot doesn't have to be 3/32"

The benefit of doing it yourself is you can make them any scale for about...

RE: sliding canopy question

You can make them this way also - solder a piece of brass angle over a piece of brass channel (K&S) and it leaves a nice clean slot.

RE: ESM T-28

Because he didn't know there is a difference. You have to remember, advertising "scale wheels" and manufacturing actual scale wheels is two different deals. T-28's are like all aircraft, and I...

RE: ESM T-28

They probably were - that is the only large one that I'm aware of. Sometimes they just specify sizes, and not what kit/plans they are for.

RE: ESM T-28

That photo is an example of each, nose on the left, main on the right. That particular set was 5 1/2" & 5" but we can do them in the 4 / 3 1/2" size. There are different variants of T-28 wheels,...

No, those are aluminum, brake caliper detail would be done in plastic (I couldn't find pics of it though).
