One difference on our cowls is that I put a lip at the front of my air outlet. 3/8" lip creates low pressure and helps pull air out of the cowl.

I reduced my tail wheel travel to a point which it give a 40' diameter turn. It tracks with ease on takeoff and landing. Like any warbird, don't hammer the throttle on take off.
