    Following TomCrump building thread

    Hello,

I find Tom's thread most interesting.
As I said I am not planning to post into it.

There are many details that are not clear in my mind.
They may become clearer as time goes by.

    TomCrump,

I was referring to your Lockheed Vega.
You said you mounted the wings and set the incidence.

    What are they ?

    Hi TomCrump,

I am curious what are the values for incidences; Wings and stabilizer.
Also . . . is there any thrust angle settings and what are they ?

    Thanks,

    Hello,

    I built a PA 14 in the late 1950s and early 1960s.
It is also referred to as a Piper Super Cruiser and Family Cruiser.

I crahed it dozens of times with little repairs needed.
    It was...

Wing struts, a good idea to consider

Wing struts can have an airfoil cross section and partly carry their own weight.
If I decide to use some I will install them so they snap-in. They can be installed and removed in seconds.

    Still thinking

I am still in favour of having easily separable wings. A single 78 inches long wing is a bit inconvenient to transport.

A wing joining insert can be easily built to change the dihedral angle...

    Again my present thinking

    Hello Tom,

My idea of a box at the root of the wings only joins the wings together and determines the dihedral angle. It does not join the wings to the fuselage.

    The wing's trailing edges...

    The simple solution

    Hi Tom,

I will simply sand down the top of the ribs by 3/32" between the leading edge and the front of the main spar.
