RE: J10 vs F16 vs Lai

    According to wiki:
    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Chengdu_J-10

The J-10 was based on the J-9 but also reported by some to be based on the Lavi which used a lot of parts from the F-16....

RE: Turbine cool down - pulsating vs. constant

    Doesn't really matter.

I think that the pulsating cooldown is easier to achieve electronically. Anything between 1000 rpm and 5000 rpm should be fine. All it does is prevent the rear...

RE: Why haven't JetJoe Turbines Improved??

No, but it isn't Inconel 713c or 718. Probably a lower grade, perhaps some kind of fortified stainless.
Since they have no documentation and you can't tell where and how they were forged it's...

RE: Why haven't JetJoe Turbines Improved??

Why haven't JJ improved? They don't need to. The price is low enough.

Doesn't matter that they are crap. Doesn't matter that the turbine is not made of Inconel, the tolerances are...

RE: Turnigy. SkyFly, etc. X9 radio???

I've been using mine for 2 months without a problem.

Can't comment on the software because I never got to try it out :)
Simply went ahead and used a custom FW.

    There are several custom FW...

RE: What temperatures do you guys fly in?

Dry is dry. Much better as long as you drink a lot of water.

It's "only" 35 deg c (95f) here but with the humidity the heat index is around 58c (136f)!

RE: Best Place for Sheet Steel for making Pipes

Just get 304. Just as good for tailpipe application and costs much less. Do not buy 303 or 301.
321 and 316 are also applicable but offer no real advantages for our use. They are, however,...

    RE: A123 users question

    I use 2 packs of 1100mah with 2 switches.

Always charge the day before and never fly more than an hour total. Then again I have a small jet with very little servos.

Thermocouples don't measure temperature but rather the temperature difference between two points.

There are a couple of reasons for the gradient you see when inserting the probe deeper.
