I know what you mean about the heat, Im in South Louisiana, constantly 95+ including the heat index with about 85%+ humidity, after the overheating issues I was unsure if maybe the climate down here...

Good news...Iwas able to get 2 more runs in today and was extremely pleased. I used DJLaPalme's advice and went a little richer than normal and it ran beautiful. Probably still some fine tuning to do...

So as the this past weekend was the maiden voyage and there were some highs and some pretty lows.

For my first build of any kind I was very pleased with the balance and handeling of the boat....

I just completed my boat and my rudder setup was basically the last step. I was at the same point as you and I went to talk it over the the LHS owner and he gave me about the easiest solution there...

So FINALLY, its all done, need to strap on the fuel tank and tap holes to screw down radio box cover.

Just thought I would add some more pics to show my progress. Slow but sure.

The cage is completed and two layers of finishing resin has been applied to the hull.

Ok, so last night I went ahead and tried to use the spinner nut with the washer but because of the thickness of the washer I was worried there wasnt enough grip for the nut because of the 4 strippled...

Mr Gator, Iwas using the washer that came with the nut so Iguess as you say at least the threads arent damaged that far up. It may be hard to tell but where the threads looks like the aluminum is...
