RE: 4 stroke boat and nos

Several years ago I tried a Saito FA.40a in a boat project. I found some small flywheels and octura Kool Klamps on an auction site and retro fitted them for use. I installed 2 cooling clamps around...

    RE: rx

I use Hitec "POSITIVE" shift receivers with my Airtronics and JR radios. Particularly the Electron 6. It is light, dual conversion, reliable and inexpensive. Good luck.
  4. RE: 10x5 prop direct with a 3700kv inrunner?

Negative. Your motor will let out the smoke on 3s. Try a 6x4 prop or get an 1100 kv motor.

    RE: Saito FA-40a

After a couple years of ocasional use with the MAS 9x7 3-blade prop. I finally decided it needed a little bit more load. So I cut down a 10x7 3-blade to 9.5x7 and balanced it. I backed of the needle...

RE: Is anyone using Evolution Props?

I have used the 13x7 and the 12x6 in place of apc's. They are definetly a higher load than the apc's lugging down my engines. I would recommend propping down or sticking with the apc props. I have...

RE: Ever tried a EDF boat

The boat had too much torque. Starting the motor would cause the boat to roll dangerously. I did not have the guts to run it wide open. Very fast. I used a 90mm Wemotec Midifan with a Mega 22/30/2...

RE: Ever tried a EDF boat

    785boats,
I had it on the water once. It was easier to control but never got her up to speed. Too much power in too small of a boat. It was only 22" long. I love the emergency stop/back-up in the...

RE: Ever tried a EDF boat

Here is my attempt at a little airboat. The first half is with a TT .15 but the second half is with a Midifan and a mega motor. It was all but impossible to point this thing in a straight line....

    RE: RETRACT QUESTION ....

These have a very bad reputation. I bought the 46 size and the controller literaly started smoking the first time I tested them. There are a few threads on rcgroups.com about these. Worth looking up...

So the new version is 20% heavier and 50% more expensive. Ouch!

    RE: GP F4U Corsair .40

I too have built this plane and love it. I also had to add 8oz. of lead fishing weights to the cowling to balance her. Very smooth and stable (surprisingly). Mine has a little saito .56 which I think...

    RE: Ferrite Beads or Rings

I use these as they are cheap.

The hole is small so I have to remove the pins from the connector. Easy enough though.

    RE: Ferrite Beads or Rings

    Dick,
I use ferrite rings also. I have found that they work better when I wrap the servo leads at least 3 to 5 times through the ring. I also locate the the rings on the wires as close to the...

    RE: phoenix models yak 54

    Dunahoo,
Try an APC 13x7. The .82 will rev to about 10,000 and I am certain that prop and engine combo will give you unlimited vertical.

    RE: Saito .62a

If you can get the .62 cheaper than go for it. It is a great little engine.
