RE: Announcing Easy Web Cam Lap Counter

    Hello. :)
I'm digging out this old thread as I have just downloaded the program and trying to make it work on a 1/10 offroad track.
My friends had tried it last year to no success, but now I'm...

    RE: 4 pole brushless gearing?

This is the motor I'm testing now, it's the 3800kv unit.
    Leopard 3660
I like that it is almost as light as a 540 motor, and built simply, with no bells and whistle to complicate things. There...

    RE: 4 pole brushless gearing?

Thanks for the reminder. 120*F is just about 49*C so I'm not too close to killing the batteries. :D They're 5000mah and have 40C discharge rate, but anything less has shown signs of stress in the...

    RE: 4 pole brushless gearing?

Slowly but steadily, I'm learning about this amp rating thing on ESCs. The one I run is a 60A, most likely constant. It is meant for 540 sized motor and easily supports up to 4000kv motors in offroad...

    RE: 4 pole brushless gearing?

The new 4 pole came in and I've managed to do a amateur test today. It's not a good comparison since the 2 pole is 2700kv and this 4 pole is 3800kv, but have to make do here.

    With a 14T pinion...

    RE: 4 pole brushless gearing?

That's true too, under-gearing also cause overheating. Base on the 2700kv motor with 17T pinion, I'm guessing a 13, 14T pinion will be quite close on the new motor. :)
    To get a clearer picture,...

    RE: 4 pole brushless gearing?

    Thank you for the insight!
I have to admit that even with those minimal technical breakdown, it's already giving my brain a good workout. [X(] Takes a mountain bike/MX guy some time to understand...

    4 pole brushless gearing?

I'm expecting a new test unit of 4 pole brushless 550 motor (36mm x 60mm) for the Hyper 10SC, so does anyone know whether a 4 pole needs some different gearing to a 2 pole motor?

    Currently the...

Thank you all for the replies. So the 13.5T it is then. ;)
I just want to be sure I wouldn't need to come home every weekend and purchase something to replace what broke during the day's run.

    RE: Official E-FIRESTORM thread

I bought some 25mm x 25mm fan from the computer store and installed one over my old Novak esc heat sink. They run on DC5V which can be tab from the reciever and consume minimal power. With the fan...

    Poll: RE: ezrun brushless

Have a question regarding the programmable motor timing. I'm running my 35A esc with a Team Orion 10.5T motor, but I'll need just a tiny bit more power due to the straight at my backward track. The...

now that my Nimh cells are coming of age, it'll be some lipo upgrades coming soon.

RE: Internal resistance of nimh cells

Well, it is indeed time consuming to check cell by cell, which was what I have been doing. Sure take time but that's why RC appeal to me so much, it's discovery of some sort and that interest me.
