    RE: My lipo Batteries

You should have set the cut off before you started discharging.
Chargers are not all the same.
Mine (iCharger 306B) can be set up at what ever you want.

Stop your discharge at 3.85v / cell.

    RE: My lipo Batteries

Many of us have made discharges just for this.

Most chargers can do it but I use my discharger.
Less stress on the charger and WAY faster.

    RE: My lipo Batteries

I would noy cycle them for the heck of it.
As, said, it will only use up cycles.

These batteries are a complete different animal than NiMH.

When not in use, store them at 3.85V / cell.
    That...
  7. RE: Charging multiple packs on one charge?

    Your charger is only 50WATTS.

You will not see much benefit from a parallel board with such a limited charger.

    Nice video.

But they need to learn how the spell.

    RE: c- rating

    James,

Are you mixing Charge C rate and Discharge C rate.

    2 different things.

    RE: c- rating

As said most manufacturers are overly optimistic with their C rating claims.
Over on RC Groups several posters have developed an easy test for true C rating.
They say and are proving that it is...

I was quoting from an artical I found in Model Aviation written by the former owner of AstroFlight.

You can find the complete artical on page 94 and 95.

    RE: Wiring

I see no one here has mentioned to you that extending your battery wires to the ESC is NOT recommended at all.
Sometimes can lead to frying your ESC.

It is better the extend the wires going to...

    RE: Faster NiMH Chargers?

You will need a budget quite a bit bigger than that for a decent charger.

    Look lower on the page.
  14. RE: A123 & Cellpro multi-4 almost up in smoke!!!

I don't see how it could have hurt the RX.

The battery may or may not have been damaged.
It seems to work but it may have shortened its life.
I would keep an eye on it and maybe measure its...

    RE: One charger for everything?

When you have 2 - 6S wired together to get a 12S pack, they are wired in series.
When you go to charge them as 2 - 6S packs you wire them in parallel.
When wired in parallel you double the mAh and...

    RE: One charger for everything?

You are correct, that would be the maximum celled pack it can charge.

A 10S or a 8S charger would work, then charge the 2 packs in paralllel.
    Much faster.

    RE: One charger for everything?

I would not buy a charger to charge 14S.

Only 2 on the market that I know of and neither would be a wise purchase.
Thunder power makes a 14S charger and as you found Hyperion has one.

    I would...
  18. RE: Expensive US made vs Chinese Batteries

Thunder Power does sell the best batteries but it usually doesn't pencil out because they are SO expensive.
A pack that costs 3 times as much and will last twice as long just doesn't make good sense...

Doesn't your ESC have an adjustable LVC point?

    I thought all ESC would.
  20. RE: Question about this specific battery

    Try buying a decent charger.

You could be charged in as little as 10minutes.
  21. RE: thunder power tp820cd, or powerlab 8 decision

Those are 2 very different chargers with quite different features.
I don't understand how you have come down to these 2.

I would never even consider the Thunder Power.

    RE: Battery selection

I am not an RCcar/truck guy but this just doesn't sound right.

ANY battery will power an electric motor and a RX.
It just needs to be set up for the selected battery with a BEC or regulator.
