I have the same Plane/Engine combination ... and had the same exact problem.
My problem turned out to be the clunk ... it was too far to the rear of the tank ... moved it forward at least a half...

HITEC Programmable Digital servos will go 180 degrees ... and you can set the speed ( slow them down ) if needed.
They can be purchased for approx. $50.00

However, you will need the programmer...

I had the blow out problem with three 180 mufflers.
A club member gave me the old design muffler which fixed my problem.

That was three years ago ... they must know about the problem by now!

I use 1.175 or 1.188 (little safer) volts per cell (Nicd) as a stopping point.

I have considered 1.1 volts per cell as absolutely dead.

I use a voltmeter with a 20 ohm 5 or 10 watt...

You do not need the programmer to use the spreadsheet to get your answer using the Excell Program

do this using the Desired Control Angle Know portion of the program.

Could be the grain direction of the wing ribs.

My DA-50 doesn't start well when hot either.

If I flip it and it doesn't respond "normal" ... I just wait for 10 minutes or so ... then no problems.

Aerobatic .. usually go for the largest diameter and low pitch ... 23 X 8 - 24 X 8 ... I have tried 22 X 10, 24 X 10 22 X 8 ... prefer 22 X 8 ... slower speeds and better...
