I must admit the thrust measured (IN THE PLANE) is often far off the test bench figures. The pitch issue is prolly the same as proped motors ie more pitch = less static, more speed and less noise....

I ground the motor output shaft too shorten it. This should lessen the load on the pissy housing engine mount by keeping all spinning parts close. Also inside turning the housing for motor clearance....

Putting out 4.5kg in my old and bashed 5.7kg f16.

Just sit the spring as well as you can in the cap and fit the cap, Its a tight fit.
The engine will run fine without the spring BUT your radio gear may suffer interferance.

Aluminium tape would not do the motor any justice if ingested. Fuel would weaken the bond and a loose edge and it would soon depart.

The DLE 30 will match the OS 160 without a worry. I`ve converted 2 planes of my own and convinced others who now enjoy the many benefits[8D]
