RE: ShockFlyer Questions

The Berg is surely not the only game in town...I own 3 of them, and 4 TX modules. I think they are the best game in town (I have flown in a gaggle of 8 to 10 planes, no sweat), but if a synth module...

I can post a link to tell how to make the Futaba Synth module work as well.

RE: Electric Tacos

I lighten mine quite a bit further than the E Taco mod Paul sells, and I get 6 oz bare, 7 1/2 covered with LG and tires (I think). I'll be covering another shortly, I'll keep track. I really don't...

RE: ShockFlyer Questions

You have to read up on Bergs. Peter Berg is an aerospace engineer who designs telemetry systems for spacecraft. He is also an avid sailplane pilot. While the Berg is single conversion, it has a...

RE: Electric Tacos

No, I don't have any way to take any video, or get video onto the computer, or host the videos. I have to rely on eye witness accounts! [8D]

And yes, I saw you video. I think your plane ROCKED!!...

RE: How's the black tube called in a Mojo?

It's not heavy at all once you consider it replaces the strength of the sheeting and a fist full of balsa sticks. And it won't snap like balsa, so the fuse is much more durable, and lighter, in the...

RE: ShockFlyer Questions

Yep, Chris is right! These little electric foamies are almost a "must have" item. My favorite manuever is...hand somebody else the TX and stand just behind them. I've never seen anybody YET that...

RE: Electric Motor Primer

"Not everyone seems to list their C... "

Well, I would only buy a pack from a mfg that does, but most of the current generation lipos will do 10C. The Kokams have some 20C packs other than the...

RE: Electric Motor Primer

1. The battery manufacturer sets the 20C rating. 20 X .340A = 6.8A

2. C is the Capacity of the pack. A pack that can be discharged at 20C can be discharged at 20X it's capacity. The discharge...

RE: ShockFlyer Questions

The GWS RX's have a dismal record of glitches. If you fly by yourself, far away from anybody else, they are OK. You can fly a Berg shoulder-to-shoulder with 10 of your best flying buddies.

RE: Help needed with Compro Controller and 22.2v

When you disconnect the red lead, you no longer have any power going to the RX. Hook a standard RX battery to the RX and it will (or ought to..) work.

EDIT: When I typed that reply, I was not...

RE: Electric Motor Primer

OK, on the batteries.

Hobby Lobby sells Kokam brand lipos. The 340Mah Kokam can deliver 20C, or 20 times it's rated capacity, in discharge. This is 6.8A that they can put out.

Other brands...

RE: DSP4 - HiMax connection question?

I'd say SOL. I'm not familiar with that ESC, but it sounds like it's for a brushed motor if it only has 2 wires. And it just flat won't work with the brushless motor.

As for the batteries... It...

RE: Electric Motor Primer

The Axi 2208/34 has just about become the standard for the ShockFlyer. They are small and light enough to fit on the ShockFlyer without getting the weight too high. AFAIK, Himax doesn't make a motor...

RE: Burrito Build - all the questions you were afraid to ask

A very tasteful "scallop" effect. High contrast for visibility, yet understated enough to not be garish. Symmetrical, with distinct "left hand" and "right hand" sides.

I like! :D

RE: Electric Tacos

If you already have the 2500, I'd try it. If you have to buy a motor, there's not a lot more difference (if you get the combo from B-P-P... the way he has it broken down, you get the motor for $115...
