RE: F27 STRYKER, WAY PAST THE LIMITS! PART 4...

Elmissir,
I don't have the guts anymore. Even my flying buddies don't understand because I was successful so many times before. I switched to a 16/15/2 + WEMOTEC ducted fan (pics several pages...

RE: F27 STRYKER, WAY PAST THE LIMITS! PART 4...

What is the latest on launching the Stryker? I went to power OFF launches after I clipped my finger, and now I am not always successful anymore getting it in the air. So are you launching power off...

RE: New Hanger 9 p-51 mustang **Trainer?!?**

I have my flap switch coupled with the elevator and I added a few clicks down with flaps. But no, I don't need to hold the nose down. In no wind, I can almost fly hands off with no power. In...

I have mine at 50 degrees down and it can fly and land really slow.

Gryphon
I completely agree with you and thanks for the info. I was wondering how good the low cost units were-and I see they are not that good. I am looking at the K band units which are ~$800. ...

RE: F27 STRYKER, WAY PAST THE LIMITS! PART 4...

Anyone,
What is the name/brand of the radar gun that works well on these planes? Does the cheap Bushnell work or do I need the pricey Sport Radar Pro?

RE: F27 STRYKER, WAY PAST THE LIMITS! PART 4...

Gryphon,
$800+ wow! I thought I was bad, nope, you win.
I did a static test and drew 54 amps, but static tests are farely useless since the plane would self destruct if I didn't restrain it. ...

RE: F27 STRYKER, WAY PAST THE LIMITS! PART 4...

Gryphon,
Stock F27B with airpower 70mm EDF, Castle 45 ESC, TP 3S 2100 batt, MEGA 16/15/2, and 3 large washers in front of the battery. I'm addicted to ducted fans. The forward 1/3 of the plane is...

RE: F27 STRYKER, WAY PAST THE LIMITS! PART 4...

Well here is my Stryker #3. I don't keep it on full throttle more than a few seconds because it disappears and I am afraid of ripping the wings off in a turn. This thing is extremely fast.

RE: New Hanger 9 p-51 mustang **Trainer?!?**

Sounds like you should go electric...no bogging, no mixture, no adjustments, just fly.

RE: New Hanger 9 p-51 mustang **Trainer?!?**

Landing technique is HIGHLY dependent on the wind, even for the same plane. When I have calm air, I land the P51 with no throttle and full flaps. The trick is to set the glide path with just a...

RE: ParkZone P-51 Mustang RTF

Really?? Adding a radio/ESC/motor/servos is the norm for anyone in the hobby. True, Parkzone is a good deal for the first airplane, but then you find out that you need to buy all the other stuff...

RE: ParkZone P-51 Mustang RTF

Yes you can, and I do sometimes. You can also had launch with a 10 x 7 and I do that too (I switch around the props alot-now using a 9 x 7 3-blade). The 10 x 10 is way overpowered and I only go WOT...

RE: ParkZone P-51 Mustang RTF

Racer Mech,
I enjoy the P47 MUCH MORE than the ParkZone P51. To satisfy my need to own and fly a P51, I now fly the Hangar 9 P51 PTS, 58 ws. So for a great warbird at the 39" ws range, I believe...

RE: ParkZone P-51 Mustang RTF

Just to let you know, I bought the 6 series and it doesn't fit in the gear box, so I am not sure what they are talking about, so I gave up on that one. I bought the 450 for my P47 and then changed...

RE: New Hanger 9 p-51 mustang **Trainer?!?**

Brent,
Yes, I love the way it floats coming down, amazing! I switched to a 14 x 12 prop today and all I can say is WWOOWW! It now has plenty of vertical capability, I won't use any larger. ...

RE: New Hanger 9 p-51 mustang **Trainer?!?**

Well, I had the maiden flight of my PTS and what a great plane. I am flying with an EFLITE 60 motor and 12 x 12 prop. Plenty of power, but I want more, so tomorrow will be with a 14 x 12 (this...

RE: New Hanger 9 p-51 mustang **Trainer?!?**

Are you taking off on grass or pavement??? I really like the forward rake because on wet grass, I DON"T nose over, which is what I take off on.

RE: The Badius Owners Club

Hi Brent,
I see you hang out here. I posted a question to you on the P51 forum, but alas, no answer. Anyway, what did you do about heat in that plane? Add any vents? Also, did you have to...

RE: New Hanger 9 p-51 mustang **Trainer?!?**

Reversing the gear would guarantee a nose over since the axis will be at or behind the CG.

Brent,
Did you make any mods to get the heat out (i.e. add vents) or to remove the battery???
thanks,
Al

Nice video. This is very useful! Ask Howard? to use more zoom!!! ( if you do this again). No damage from running into the car? First take off looked like t was headed for the tree. ...

Avindair,
Having replaced four fuses already, I agree with you. I suspect your plastic frame cracked also.
