RE: Choosing My First Plane

I would probably get something other than a jet to start out. You may be fine with a jet, but you might not and get frustrated.

I had great luck with a Mountain Models Magpie with both the...

RE: GWS slope gliders discontinued?

They are all out of stock at those places....

Also, those appear to not be slope glider versions, but a new version in which GWS includes everything but the motor portion (includes landing gear,...

RE: BP Brushless Motor Questions

The way GMS did it should work, though the motor will be a little out of line compared to what most planes are designed for.

The motor shaft should be in line with where a GWS gear box shaft...

RE: MM Magpie question

The magpie is a great plane (will be a good starter plane and still fun to fly later). As far as the setup, first off, I would suggest the dual wing package with both the sport wing and the SF wing...

RE: Balsa BP21 Outrunner/ TM 400

The BP8Y motor pulls roughly 18oz with a 1047 prop @9.6V Anybody have any experience with the BP8Y since it seems like it would solve the small prop on a large cowling issue....

RE: Balsa BP21 Outrunner/ TM 400

RE: brushless GWS beaver

The BP12 says 16.3 oz thrust from 9.6V 8040 prop giving 8.5A. (I will probably be getting a 15A esc anyway since I will be using it on other planes in the future). Since my plane weighs less than...

I have been looking at the Himax 2015-4100 geared motor. Does anybody know if this would work well in the beaver and give it more power for float flying and more flight duration?

I took a look...

RE: brushless GWS beaver

I have not weighed it, but the specs are 10-12oz so I would say after a slightly heavy build and the floats I am up to around 15oz MAX.
