If it's any consolation, after seeing your other builds, I dont think you will have a problem. I think your biggest problem will be painting it, cause I know how much you like the bare wood....

Personally, I would leave the washer. I have run engines before without the washer, but would not recommend it as the washer spreads the load out over a bigger area than the nut.

Not knowing what finishing resin/epoxy you are using, I cannot help too much. But if it is something like West system, the mix ratios are NOT 1:1. There are special mixing pumps available for those....
