RE: Why do some great kits have to die?

I guess I haven't been clear...

I'm assuming that all kits (and even ARFs) have an original set of plans; not the instructions, not the simplified sheets that go along with the instructions, but...

RE: Seagull's "Dual Ace"

I would not hesitate for a second to put a pair of Thunder Tiger Pros in a twin. My TT Pro engines are extremely reliable and very user-friendly; perfect for a twin.

As for Super Tigres, my...

I'd like to see what you guys have done, too.

I have a new-in-the-box Firebat sitting in the shop (Christmas gift) and a new RCer Warp 4 3T brushless motor looking for a home. Teamed up with a...

Mine's hanging patiently from the basement ceiling... I fondled it today. :)

I spent the evening in the shop converting my old Great Planes ElectroStreak kit from a brushed truck motor and...

Why do some great kits have to die?

I always wondered why when kits are discontinued, plans aren't still available. It would be nice to know I could build Great Planes ElectroStreak kit #3 in the future if (when?) I finally crash or...

ElectroStreak and Warp 4 4T motor

I went to the WRAM show this weekend. I talked to Sal at Northeast Sailplane and bought an RCer Warp 4 4T brushless motor and Phoenix 25A speed control at his recommendation. I also picked up an...

RE: comments Fox engines

GWILLIE,

Thanks very much for the information. I got my three new Foxes back out and looked at the mounting lugs. The two engines that were in the 40BBRC boxes had a "40" stamped on the lug,...

RE: comments Fox engines

Race,

Funny thing about those engines... I had them all out of the boxes looking at them the other night and was startled to find they appear identical in size and have no identifying markings...

Jeff,

Are you asking me about panel lines? (I think I'm the only "Bob" participating in this thread....) If so, you're asking the wrong guy. ;) (see post #500 in this thread) My Mustang...

RE: comments Fox engines

I just bought three old NIB Fox engines: two .40BBRCs and a .36BBRC. The instructions have the year "1983" on them. I'm dying to put them on the test stand and try them out, but I need to get...

RE: Great Planes .40 P51 kit build...

Funny how that happens, isn't it? I started into mine like gangbusters, then put it aside. That was two years ago. I finished it this winter, then became very interested in it again. After flying...

I'd try it. I just bought a second Magnum .52 four-stroke for the purpose of building a SPAD DPS twin. I just broke it in yesterday and I was completely impressed with it. It ran like it was...

RE: SuperTigre owners club!Post your oppinions-pics etc.

Edwin,

Right now I have just the stock 4-oz. tanks installed. I'll be adding an additional pair of 4-oz tanks on the wing, inside the fuse, piped to the tanks in the nacelles. I didn't...

I put all my receiver packs on the charger and cycle them. I write the date and capacity in fine-line permanent marker right on the pack. That way, I can tell at a glance how old a pack is, and how...

When (before or after sheeting) and how do you cut the channels for the...

All the guy did was post a report on breaking in his engine. He must have enjoyed doing it, and he must have been happy with the way it turned out.

Why do you keep implying that he --and...
