    RE: Sterling American Scout

Sorry to say that Sterling has been out of buisness for some time now. They closed up shop back in the 70's when Estes bought them out. Your best bet would be to find an old kit on FleaBay.

    RE: Johnson HC970

Since the Darby will need plenty of ballast you'd be better off using a 12 volt battery. The 970 will run fine on either 6 or 12 volts but will run a bit cooler on 12 volts.

    Deathwish,

What happened to the Missouri you were working on? You were making a fair amount of progress on it.

    RE: New builder

Eventually on my to do list of boats is the USS Cairo. There is something about that City class of boats that I like. I've been down to Mound City, Illinois where they were built.

    RE: New builder

Even reduced down 2.5:1 it has enough power to swamp the fore deck. I don't run it that fast but with it being about 50 pounds, I'd rather have the extra power available for emergency manuvers....

RE: Schnell boat at St Louis boat show

The sub is still in the lake somewhere. We believe it to be in the area of/under that little pavilion area where the pay R/C boats are.
