I had the plane balanced perfectly. I had to put some lead in the tail along with the battery. The first landing was perfect, balance was spot on. Lots of elevator, I agree. You can still get some...

RE: H9 Jackal 50 Prop Jet

Jett22,

I just had the Rossi.61. Sold it on RCU for the same price as they are on sale for. Dub Jett's are nicer but a little more than 189.00 . I still haven't finished my Jackal. Just...

RE: H9 Jackal 50 Prop Jet

Dry.. It assumes that you will have a near empty tank on landing. I like the 1/2 tank idea though, since this is where most flying is done.
I set up all my planes with the tank empty I'm still...

RE: H9 Jackal 50 Prop Jet

Adding a fan directly to the heatsinks of a Speed controller would work very well to dissipate heat away from the unit. As it was said, make sure you have at least a 1 to 3 air flow to get rid of the...

RE: H9 Jackal 50 Prop Jet

I went with the eflite 60-120 electric retracts.

Here's a video of them.

RE: H9 Jackal 50 Prop Jet

Josh - thanks for the input on retracts. I too don't like the thought of all the tubing and pumps. I'll decide this week on what to buy.
On another note I started my build today. Got the tail...

RE: H9 Jackal 50 Prop Jet

Thanks for the reply Terry in regards to the retracts.
The only thing I don't like about the electrics is that they aren't flush with the bottom of the wing. It seems like others needed to place a...

RE: H9 Jackal 50 Prop Jet

I think it's a matter of economics. This is a wonderful plane that is designed around a glow motor... Maybe a revamped electric version is on the drawing board. Electric sells these days..

Vin,

The build is coming out great. Looks like your in the home stretch. Use strong servos and your gaps won't be a problem. Blenderderm will work.. But it leaves nasty residue when using it...

RE: Sig Ryan STA

Vin,

Plane looks great. I love the rivet job you did. Paint looks great too. I didn't read thru all 47 pages of this thread, but what are you going to use to power this little gem?
