Default The Comet ... what we need in 1/16!

Yeah, it's a Armortek Comet (beautiful, isn't it), but it's what we need to add to the Allied cause in 1/16. We need to flood Heng Long with requests for such a tank and advise them to tip the scale, lay off the German tanks for awhile and give us what we need.

Anyone else agree?

Alright now ... there's 2 (maybe 3) that want a Comet. Anyone else?

Comet can be done with christian's Cromwell kit and do quite a bit of scratch work.  I do agree though that HL or Tammy need to get some other
countries in the mix.

Oh Dear Sir., any tank can be scratch built and I know about that project as well as James is working on one right now. But your average (or even slightly above average) tank connoisseur doesn't have the time nor want to invest that much into it unless it's their absolute favorite and a must have no matter what or what the consequences are.

I just think HL needs to jump on the Allied side for a while and kick out some tanks that are mostly OD.

That's all.

Sorry butLOL at the commet, what we need imo is a good T34, IS2 or hellcat . An IS3 and centurien would be nice as well as a m47 or m48.....

Sure, if you don't have the time or experience it may not be an option. Just saying it's out there.

I know, and I have both BUT ... there's a long list and I must prioritize those projects and scratch building just ANYTHING is not the solution nor the answer. Someone manufacturing it would be the best bet. I mean, what were they thinkin' when they put out the Walker Bulldog?

And I agree very much so on a T34 ... whatever the version. Sadly needed.

I just want something British and it's has to be instant gratification too. I ain't scratch building anything right now!! Hell, it takes me almost 3 years to build a Tamiya (with some modifications) ... who knows how long it would take me to come up with a tank that's non-existent!

It always suprises me that only wsn have done a t-34 given how prolific a tank it is. Does anyone know what happened to the project to begin small scale production of the churchill that was mooted on here last year?

Nope, nope. Too many other irons in the fire. At the going rate, I have about 10 years of "things to do" and a Comet isn't one of them. Sooooo, I'd rather just pull it out of a box if that tells ya anything. []

Speaking of WSN. Too bad they didn't put out the 76MM along with the 85 too. I know, I know ... I could just plop the turret on it, but for others ...

LOL

I'll be turning a HL KV-1 into a KV-122. I have all the parts, just need to find the time to get it in line. Now that I have picked up racing again I'll have even less time. [:@] AND ... summer's just around the corner, so who'll have time for the workbench.

A KV 122 would be an excellent conversion. These where begining to be seen on the ETO more and more as theheavy IS3 was being devloped.

Yeah, some will argue that it was only a prototype and didn't see combat. But who cares. There have been a many that didn't and were built anyway. It seems to me that they DID send these off anyway because it was war, and the Soviets wasted nothing.

Need to find a neat, convincing Russian green for it. [8D]
