Default Allure by Bryan Hebert

Many of you May or may not be aware that Bryan Hebert has been busy designing a new model, the Allure. The Allure will come in two primary configurations:
1. Electric - Contra drive or any other single prop system.
2. Glow power.

The main difference between the two variants is a chin cowl and slightly beefed up construction on the glow version.

At the time of writing the prototype is being constructed by Extreme Composites in Thailand. Bryan expects to travel to Thailand later this month to fly the prototype and oversee the first batch of production.

I will post some pictures shortly and more information as it comes to hand.

Cheers,
Jason.

Here are some pictures. Trying to figure out how to do this on an iPad is interesting....

These photos show the evolution of the design from the sketch to the fuse plug. Awesome craftsmanship!

Cheers,
Jason.

Thanks for the thread Jason.

I would like to add.
The Glow and Electric Models will be made in two seperate molds.
The proto E model will be pulled from the Glow mold for speed and to evaluate and test. But there will be a mold made for a completely different layup process. I`m looking forward to running a Contra system in the E model for evaluation.
Brenner sent me a Contra system and all the updated props to work this design out. I have carfully set the moments and worked the thrust inc. settings to make this model the best it can be.

Here is a video I took Of AC Glenn flying and testing the setup I`m going to use on the Allure.
Here we show what knife edge capability is possible with attention to set up detail even on a smaller model like the Valiant.

No problem Bryan. I think this will be a great place to share information about the new Allure. BTW, my contra drive is chaffing at the bit to get in the Allure... :-)

Cheers,
Jason.

Hi Tuny,

Yes, Bryan has been converted.... Just kidding mate.

The Allure is a design collaboration between Bryan and Brenner Sharp primarily designed for the contra drive unit. One of Brenner's drives will power my Allure. Bryan will also be releasing a glow version for the people that prefer YS power plants. I think at the end of the day, one has to provide product that the market wants be it glow or electric. Clearly, this will be the only design on the market designed around the contra drive system. That has to be an advantage. Did I mention this thing has a big rudder? It's 19" high!

Cheers,
Jason.

It's always exciting when a new plane becomes available. Will be interesting to see what the individual component weights are.

Hi Woodie,

Looks like the total weight is less than 2300 grams for the airframe according to Bryan's latest report on faceache(Facebook). This weight sounds to be on the money to me. Bryan seemed very pleased.

Cheers,
Jason.

The weight of the prototype is 2250 grams which is apparently better than the latest batch of Shindens. Production weights are expected to be even better.

Maiden flight is said to happen today.

Cheers,
Jason.

Some more pictures from Thailand. RTF weight of 4760 grams with 1150 gram flight packs. Should work out well for those who plan to use the contra drive.

Cheers,
Jason.

Hi Bryan,

Have you decided what hardware will be delivered with the model yet?

Looking forward to seeing the contra version pictures.

Cheers,
Jason.

Hi Jason
All hardware will be included. All horns, tail wheel . pre drilled pre mounted landing gear, and the hard points in the surfaces will have area to mount my custom horns that I sell. a battery tray will also be included.

On the electric versions the canopy will be mounted with a quick release and no chin, it will be molded in place. we will shoot for a 2300g weight for electric and 2500 for glow. Now my proto E model is below 2250with Gear and pants , the Glow proto is 2400 G so it is possible to have them lighter, But expect the weights to sneek up at least 2% when production gets rolling.

The glow version will have the chin mounted with a quick release, the canopy mounted with quick releases. and include mounts/fire wall, for the YS or Hyde mount. I`m trying to give the best value for the dollar. Most of all the time consuming parts will be completed on the kit. You should be able to built the model in a week of nights no matter the version.

When my new website launches you will be able to pre order the model and I will drop ship from the factory to anywhere outside the US.
Any sales in the states will go through me. You will be able to order total custom Schemes for 500.00$ or color swaps for a minimum fee. through my website.

The Electric molds are being made as we speak the glow version will be in production in a week or so stay tuned.

Thanks Bryan,

Sounds great. Pleased to hear that hard points for your horns will be built in.

Will the contra version come with the nose ring set to 0 degrees side thrust?

Cheers,
Jason.
