Default firefly vc rebuild

i have been running my vc firefly for 2 years now and the stock plastic mato gear boxes finally failed so its time for a rebuild
i got my self a £50 ($81) tamiya full lower hull the hvss tracks and suspension will be kept for other projects
the firefly with the old stretched mato hull

new stretched tamiya hull with mato vvss fitted

hi dan yes it has got the small hatches and the 57° glacis and the low bustle turret

new transmission cover done it started off life as a stock tamiya one my old one was made to fit the mato lower

a good friend of mine machined the out put shafts of the tamiya gear box's to fit the mato sprockets

Nice, thanks. I have some Mato tubs, and an Tamiya upper hull, that I would like to try this on. I think these were the most common Firefly.

I cast my own Turrets, Mantlets, transmission covers,and Muzzle brakes now.

Next thing I might cast is the small hatch hull extensions. Seems like no one is coming out with anything soon. All we get are big hatches.

I have to look at getting a 3 D printer!!!!

Hey Dan;

Working on a Firefly also and was wondering if you cast the radio box on the back of the turret? (or what do you use?)

hull cladding done

new Armored fan covers on the upper made and fitted

and smoke emitters made and fitted

not long till she is in the paint shop

I will make a casting of the radio box. Up until now I have made them individually.
