sound option for Tamiya
I am building an M51 from a Tamiya Sherman M4 kit. I have most of the visual parts to complete this, but need the diesel sound. I know the KV1 MFU is an option, but at $195 I was curious if there were any other options to gt that Cummins Diesel Sound?

I made a twin 671 GMC sound file for The Benedini which is the correct file for the Sherman. If Cummins were put into Shermans it would have been an update after the war. I think IDF did that.

Have you already got the tamiya dmd? You can pick up a KV-1 mfu for about $120 off jasons store. If you've got the m4 mfu you could sell it to offset the cost. Have you any pictures of you m51?

Tomhugill: I am building the IDF M51 with the cast hull and Cummins Diesel. I did not realize Jason could get those so affordably. How do I get in touch with him? I would love to sell my MFU....it has never been used or hooked up....but have not had any luck in the past few months it has been listed. Somebody make me an offer for the Tamiya M4 Sherman MFU ha is new and never even fired up.

Search for the part on eBay and most likely it well be him (jc-rc) listing it. If you go to his website, he lists a lot of stuff, but it may or may not be in stock, so you might have to wait for it. If it's on eBay, he has it. It usually isn't an issue, but I've come up against a part or two that didn't come in for months. He's upstanding, will refund without hassle, etc. but is slow to communicate.

Jason has his own website now (I'll look for the link later for you) and if it's not on eBay (which he said he will phase out) it's at his place.

I tried ordering from Jason Direct and they replied that they do not sell direct only through ebay? This was about three weeks ago. Have things changed since then then and now they will sell direct?? I hope I had sent them a list of parts that were not listed on Ebay..

No, I had e-mailed him via his, [email protected], a list of Tamiya parts I wanted. I didn't know he had his own web site. But Now I do. Just waiting for you to post the link. My friend!!!!

Those guys WILL NOT jeopardize their account selling around eBay and since he didn't volunteer his website link I wonder if he still has it?
This was about a year ago and I cannot find it now. I would try him again and ask if he still has it?

Here's the link:

But that's the same email MAUS used. I know I've ordered from him through eBay a bunch of times with nothing but good transactions, but through the website, I only ended up with one order.
I'm patient, I don't expect things cheap and fast, but when I lay out a sizeable amount and I'm about to pass the golden 45 day mark with PP and I get no response to email, I get nervous. Again, never was an issue with him through eBay. I got the feeling that the his product list is based on what is available at the local Tamiya warehouse, not in his shop, which probably isn't an issue under normal circumstances.
The last thing I tried was the original 56010 Tiger I turret ring. I doubt it was an easily found item, but he had it listed and the sale went through. When I emailed after month I got no response. I got a refund at 45, no other response. Turns out the AAF museum had them, just not listed correctly, so I had it two days later.

Ausf, I ordered parts off his ebay store for the Panther A I am in the process of gathering. I got the Jagdpanther parts sprue M with the middle/late Panther A mufflers on it and the Jadpanther parts sprue F for the tools jack and kugelblend. Also got the Panther G parts sprue C for the mantlet so I could convert it to an Late Panther A mantlet without the chin. While I was ordering I also needed some Panzer IV tools to add to my Jagdpanzer IV so I ordered the parts sprue F which also gave me a jack and the Bosch head light. I had the parts in 7 days. So my experiance was good. Just wish we could order more stuff with out waiting for it to show up on ebay. When I asked about ordering a complete Panther turret directly they wouldn't sell it direct even though they had it in stock. It did end up being listed, but I had hoped to send them a list of parts I needed to see if they were in stock and then just order the whole list?
