They have a number of unique items - Modellbau-Manufaktur-Rhein-Neckar

Some of you folks may already know of them and have purchased some of their products.

It will be no surprise to anyone that I have to have the fuel drum trailer. They have two, one much more expensive. Anyone know the difference? Looks like exactly the same photo to me.

So this "Not new, they're in the sticky. Cool site. Good stuff. " isn't true? I hardly ever look at the sticky anyway....

I have one of the former/ lesser expensive type coming to me at the moment plus drums and a number of other bits from their product line.

Come on, Jerry, I retracted that within 5 minutes. I really did think I had already seen this place but I checked and I was wrong. And the "Cool site. Good stuff" is true enough, right?

I really hope you'll post reviews. I'm very interested in several of their items. I sent a message asking them the difference in the two trailers. It would be really cool if you can get rolling chassis for the trailer and build your own from there.

I thought the radar sets were cool, but seemed pricey.

The M548 might become a must have, too.

Think this is the site I was thinking of, maybe because of the blue background.

http://www.tank-modellbau.de/

Can't wait for the review. Especially about shipping fees and how quick and if they pack the stuff well. That stuff always makes a difference to me. Imex has improved a hundredfold since Erik took over that part. Getting broken stuff sucks.

The difference in the two drum trailers is that the more expensive version has suspension. I've asked for photos. If shipping is even close to reasonable ($20 or $30?) I will have one of those paid for within 2 weeks.

EDIT: I tried to place an order for the fuel drum trailer. I first sent an email and asked how much the shipping would be. They replied 16 euro, but when I tried to order all of a sudden the website tried to charge me 28.84 euro for shipping. I've sent an email asking about this so we'll see what happens.

Nice stuff. Thanks for sharing. Looks like we've found the manufacturer for some of the kits that rctank.de sells.

Gary, if you can't get it from them, try Dominique at rctank.de. He sells that drum trailer, too. Looks exactly like that one.

Jerry, did you ever get your stuff from these guys? They said they shipped mine on January 10th, so I'm really hoping to see the trailer this week. Shipping was $16 but they said there's no tracking number. I haven't been in Germany for many years so I don't know how things work now, but here I can get a tracking number for a dollar, so I always do.

I probably completed my order after yours as there was some sort of problem with availability of the radar unit I ordered so they refunded that part of my order.
A few days later I received an updated invoice and was told the order had been sent, also no tracking number was available which is odd but I've ordered other items from other suppliers and they didn't provide tracking either. Most everything I get out of Germany has tracking via DHL.

We'll just have to wait and see. On Wednesday I just received set of parts I bought in late November, they were dispatched, according to DHL's tracking
12/7 so they took the slow boat from Lübeck that's for sure...

Oh yeah and you probably know the firm has apparently gone belly up since we put in our orders?? Try their website. I queried Olaf about it and he said his partner has caused no end of problems. It seems squabbles between principals in German hobby companies are rife.

Wow, over six weeks? That's crazy. Doesn't the paypal protection expire after 45 days? That's cuttin' it close.

Wonder if there's any stock left. Going out of business sale? They had some really cool stuff. Did Olaf mention anything like that?

I never did figure out if the piece I ordered will come assembled or as a kit. The photos only show the completed trailer and the site didn't really say if it was assembled, but rctank.de has the same trailer and it's quite clearly a kit. What do you think, Jerry?

Usually that kind of accessory is a kit.

That's what I figured, and that's cool as I like building kits, I just wasn't sure from the info on the site, and now the site's gone so I guess I'll wait and see. If it takes as long to get here as Jerry's did I've still got three weeks to wait!

I believe the elongated delivery was unusual. I believe it was
held up in Germany because of the holiday season, some type
of foul up and the fact the sender put the parts in an old German
grenade box. Normally the items arrive sooner than than this
latest experience. The parts are a stunning set for an early
Tiger I in 1:10 scale, my three other Tigers are late types.

I've ordered from several German vendors and it usually takes a while to get to me. Envelopes, including padded ones, take about 3 weeks. Boxes require 6-8 weeks. That accounts for fast shipping out the door from the vendor (usually 1-3 days). It's just slow go, I guess.

Too bad they folded. They had some nice stuff.

Well, my order from these guys came in today. They followed through; everything I ordered was there as far as I can see.
So cool, they had some interesting items. I only wish I'm been able to get that radar unit but otherwise I'm good.

I'll post more photos another time but in this one are the fuel drums, barb wire rolls and the trailer kit.
