Hi Jan,
-Cut the door by the lines in the fuselage. The gap in the fwd side needs to be large for the door to open
-Tape the door back and glue the black interior/piston assy on the door.
-Glue the pivoting hinges to the fuse (trial and error)
-Glue the fwd and aft reinforcement formers.
-You will need a sequencer:
--A servo will open the door
--An air valve will trigger the piston (after the door is fully open)
-Air for the piston is "T" to the speed brake "open" line, so you don't have to install another air line.
-Chute line is attached to the former where the fuse splits.
Will send pics as soon as I get home.
Caution: due to the narrow landing gear, if you deploy the chute with crosswind it will slide the fuse sideways and scratch (ugly) the aluminum wheel.

Hi Jack,
I knew someone had to have done this - never thought I'd get the info from you (silly me, should have known the master will know)....LOL
Look forward to some photo's. I have basically figured out the basics as you have explained. I am not sure how to use a servo for opening. There is no fitting/Rod in my kit - do I have to make up some sort of coupling between the two levers on each side of the box? How do I attach the release cable so that it can be done after everything is closed up (or don't you have a remote chute release?)
Cheers,
Jan

I don't have a chute release because I ran out of channels.
It's a pita to taxi back with the chute out. I shut off the turbine and walk
Anyway, it's not an everyflight thing ... plane moves sideways badly with crosswind. That cannot be healthy for the structure !
Only for "show off" when the the wind is down the runway ... or when the spectators deserve the show at the expense of scratching those beautiful alu wheels .... Never btw.

Hi Jack,
Fantastic, thank you very much for the information. Now I can see exactly how to fo it - I have never done one before. I understand about the use of the chute (I agree it will only be for show). So basically, when you open the chute box it also shoots out the chute at the same time?
Please check your messages too.
Cheers,
Jan

When i did mine on the Avonds i didn't use a sequencer, i had the door unlock and the chute ejection cylinder (air operated button valve) on the same switch. I just made the door unlock servo happen right away and slowed the button valve servo speed down so by the time the arm came around to hit the button valve there had been a delay.
