A project for Rich Johnson?
Hey Rich, I've seen you do some pretty impressive stuff with Shermans, have you thought about one of these? Do you think you'd be able to resist the bottle rocket temptation?

Oh man, dont tempt me. Sadly bottle rockets are really illegal here in California. Any fireworks are banned with crininal penalties now a days becuase of fire dangers in the dry state.
i likely could do it but with IR kinda seems like it would be lame, no offense to the one built, but defeats the purpose of massive indirect fire.

I just think it's really cool, and the special effects possibilities are intriguing. Have to stay safe, of course, but it would make for a really cool display. Not with actual rockets, but some kind of launch simulation. I guess I'll keep it in the back of my mind and add it to the list of "Someday Projects".

That might work, but I was thinking maybe some kind of powder, like baking soda maybe, powered by a very low power compressed gas, maybe CO2. I think it would have to come out both ends of the tubes, though. Backblast on those things was something to behold. Like I said, a someday project, but it's fun to mull over the possibilities.

I once many years ago,I built a Tamiya RC Humvee and put a 4 channel in it. I made the turret rotate on a servo switch back and forth, and I built a TOW out of brass tubing and such. Channel 4 was a 9v on a switch that fired the mini rocket motor that used a tube and nose that I designed.
We had so much fun with it. I dented a neighbors washing machine door, and lit a pine tree on fire in the middle of the night in an industrial complex where we used to hang out. Oh that was a blast. We told the fire department somebody shot a flare off from the freeway and it landed in the tree. The Humvee was safely hidden away in the trunk.
Oh the joys of youth. I traded it away to a model ship manufacturer for his son. his kid saw it and figured out what it was immediately. So he had to gut it right there in front me. I was so sad to see that happen.

OK, I misunderstood, I thought the kid saw it and gutted it. I can understand Poppa taking that stuff out if the kid was very young, but I bet it was still painful to watch all that hard work get torn out.
