Unhappy dle 20 ra high rpm issues

HI there, I have a dle 20 ra in a hangar 9 p-47 60 razorback, the engine has had about 8 hours on it. I've rebuilt the carb and checked for air. it ran great with only little issues that were fixed up until now, (72nd flight). Basically i've tuned the mixture for low end but as soon as I go above 50% throttle, she losses rpm and eventually dies if I keep it above 1/2 throttle. This is also on a brand new ignition with brand new lines, I also removed a fuel filter and she ran a little bit better. Should I switch from 30:1 to 40:1? I just saved my p-47 from crashing on takeoff and I dont want it to happen again, She went up at full power than at about 40 feet in they air the engine died (from this problem) running away from me and I sat her down on some soy bean, with only a broken prop. Please, anyone's opinion is helpful.
Thanks,
Ross

Have you checked the screen in the carb for debris? Located under the pump cover, the one retained by a single screw.

Oil ratio not a very likely culprit. This sounds lean - but it might be due to tune, or more likely from what you've said, dirt.

You say you tuned the low end, but made no mention of trying to do the same for your top end? Will it turn up full rpm (8500 or so) at wide open throttle when on the ground?

what I ment was I have the low end properly set but any position I put the high end in I did not want to run right, factory a bit rich, a lot rich, a little lean and very leaned it still did not want to run right.

yeah we checked when we rebuilt the carb , we got a whole new carb kit and rebuilt it and we even sanded the box where the reed pedals are against glass but we are still getting new reed pedals anyways.

is it possible that maybe my ignition is not supplying enough juice for top end?

That's very possible.

Try a different battery hooked up direct. The higher the RPM the more amps the ignition uses (only up to .5).

It's not the oil ratio. I would try 1/4 turn out on the low just to see what happened.
