I have the exact same set-up. I use a starter of the first go for the day, helps a bunch. At any rate keep the ignition and choke on. I bump the throttle up about 2 clicks and proceed to crank until I get a pop (firing) and then take the choke off.
Should start fairly fast from that point on, I have two of these engines and the other in a Valiant that takes longer to draw fuel due to distance, otherwise it's about the same. Both hand flip after running on a warm day.
Life is much nicer with a good electric starter!

I have a Mavrikk, you can find it on Ebay for $40.00 and will have to purchase battery's, a pair of 7.2 Nicads. It will start a DLE 55 no problem and has the drive to start Helicopters. Mine is at least 8 years old and I replaced the Battery's last year.
Good luck! You will really like the Set-up, lots of power.

Friend of mine has one ,had to remove the plug and shoot a little fuel in to get it to pop. He's starting by hand which is a pain sometimes. I have 3 35RA s and I use a 24v belt reduction starter(Sullivan -Miller) which makes it easier. My shoulder won't allow me to hand crank. After a few starts it gets better. Be careful not to flood it though

Because of health issues I can't hand start my gas engines. I put spring starters on my Zenoah 38s but when I got the DLE engines my old sullivan starter just would start them. I went to the local hobby shop and bought a Hobbico 180 HD starter, then ordered a 4 cell lipol battery. It starts my 3 DLE 35Ra's and it will start my Zenoah 38. I paid around $30.00 at the hobby shop, you may be able to find it cheaper on line. I bought the battery at Value Hobby.com, 4 cell, 2200mah for $21.99. It really spins it.

Hope this helps
