Admirable that you worked with Bruce. Very nice looking sport jet. I hope it is a winner for you.

i wonder if bruce will have the opportunity to inspect a few from the first batch to see if they meet his approval...........if they are anywhere near the quality of his R-54 kits then i'm getting on the list.......it sure would be nice if it's manufactured with a 2 piece wing though.....

Is the empennage and wing composite? Will it be available in all white? How are the control surfaces hinged?

I will answer some of these questions since Kraivuth may be busy flying for Thai air..

It all composite, surface hinging, TWO piece wing with aluminum tubes, flaps, air brake. I am sure that PST can offer it in White, but not confirmed yet.

Rich, with Kraivuth behind this, there is no reason for Bruce to be worry. I have one of the first Batch production F-9F from PST and the quality is superb. Kraivuth always stay behind his products. No question asked. So definetly is a nice move from both K & B to be working toguether with this project.

Is the 24 lb DRY weight accurate though?? Thats pretty heavy compared to the Balsa 54. Approx 6 lbs heavier !! Which, removing the weight of the engine and other components, means the airframe itself is more than 50% (?) heavier?? Is that about right?

That means this will fly like a very different airplane, won't it?

Like Ehap said...all composite, all flight control surfaces are surface hinged, 2-piece wings, removable nose section, removable vertical fin. All white will be offered. Our prototype model weighs 24 lbs with heavy duty landing gear and speed brake but that's pretty conservative. Later production model will be lighter by a few pounds. Quality? The Reaction ARF will have the same in-mold finish as our Panther and F-84G, smooth and shinny. Flying? sweet !!!

I am sure that Bruce will have a few kits for inspection and approval very soon.

Cheers, Kraivuth S.

I have to say, as far as "trainer jets" go, that's one of the nicest looking I've seen, I really quite like it! And the fact that it will handle a bigger turbine is nice as well, the R54 I think would be awfully hard to balance with bigger than a P60/PST600 type engine.
Very nice looking!

I want to confirm what Kraivuth (B777) has said - the Reaction ARF is fully licensed, endorsed and supported by BTE, and has been from the very beginning. True, I've yet to get my hands on one, but from all I've seen and from what others have reported, there's little doubt that this is going to be a fantastic bird!!! PST has been great to work with, open and honest, and I am blown away with what they have done with the design. It's been a real pleasure working with them.

One point I want to make clear is that the Reaction ARF is strictly a PST product. It is based on my R54, but they have taken it to a far higher level and incorporated all of the features that jet pilots want in a modern sport jet ARF. And don't forget, they make great turbines too!

We are working out the details on distribution and will keep you updated on availability and prices as soon as possible.

This is great!! Now you can have it either way, build or ARF and there is no reason to choose any other sport/trainer type jet
I think this thread will be one of the most active on RCU.

the Reaction ARF is fully licensed, endorsed and supported by BTE,

that is very re-assuring to know. With so much xeroxing going on in this industry, it is great to see this honest, professional approach to business dealings.

The Reaction ARF should do great. Although the R54 is a fabulous flying airplane, the one piece wing, and the building did not suit all people....now there will be no excuses!!!

Good luck guys!!

richard, i have met and dealt with pst. they are first class. i have purchased from them with no issues. but if you want to purchase from the usa, i think bruce is a dealer as well as helijet. maybe i can work something out as well or i will buy one for you and you can purchase from me for the same price. any way it goes this should be a great knock around jet. barry

I have seen the PST operation and I have been treated with utmost respect by the staff here in Bangkok. Kraivuth (owner/manager of PST) is a full size 777/747 pilot for Thai airlines, his reputation is far more important than a few dollars. I assure you sending money here will not be a problem (or you may choose the above options in the US). I mention this based on what I have seen and I am not compensated by them....Thailand is a very modern and economically growing country and it has everything one needs. All the best.

Hi Av8rk, I see that you are from Baltimore, MD. I spent many college years at U of MD, College Park. Will have to go back and visit one of these days....cheers, Kraivuth S.
